Great additions, soon as they drop the land vehicles I’ll return to this game. I’ve almost started playing again so many times, but the wait has been worth it with everything they’ve been adding.
Back in my day, you had to walk to the science outpost.

Hopefully you can still scan from the vehicle rather than having to keep getting out.

Local maps is the only thing I've wanted for this tbh.
40hz mode? Meh, need to activate 120hz on Xbox and my Samsung oled greyes out the motion smoothing which make games choppy as hell in both 30 and 40fps modes.
Pure 30 or 60 is where it's at with these consoles imo.

And gets away with it everytime 😛

Basically what I said too. In a nicer way 😉

40 fps / 120hz mode should be cool and the preferred way since the game isn't too difficult.
That is based on your extensive playing time of games on the XSX.

It is hilarious that 30fps is a no no but 40fps(because Playstation) is so friggin amazing. LMAO!!

Nice!! I shamefully admit this gen has turned me into an fps snob, so this means I can finally start playing the game!

Sounds like good updates. I'll probably wait until the expansion comes out to pick up my ng+ playthrough. Gotta spend a few hundred hours in Fallout 4 first.

It's just math, simpleton. 40 is perfect because 120 is divisible evenly by 40.

This should have been in the game in the first place. Whatever. Better late than never I guess. I hope difficulty affects more than just health.

Edit:

Extreme difficulty isn't hard and the AI still can barely shoot you past 15 feet.

Seem to remember a few reports claiming MS basically told them both this and Redfall had to release last year?

But then MS easing up on parity between the X/S versions of games probably played a big part in this.

You are correct plus this . Was probably constrained by the parity clause however since that BG3 fiasco, seems MS has relaxed on this and allow devs to extract more out of the XSX, which is good news. Also maybe more better optimization with the Engine too.

FPS isn't part of the parity clause. Never has been. There are loads of games since day 1 that have 120hz or 60hz only on XSX. Same for RT.

The parity MS enforce is about features. Like the split screen of BG3 which is what MS let go.

End this stupidity now because it was never a thing for FPS.

I did not intend to make a funny post @eVo7 , but if you found it humorous, I'm not going to stop you enjoying it, it is said a great laugh extends your life.

The games performance both CPU and GPU was optimized a few updates ago. Significant gains were seen. That's the only reason this 60fps target update is even a reality. Yes the video says PC but these optimizations were implemented into console version as well

I couldn't believe all the stuff I missed in Akila alone by not having a map. Lol, I wonder how many other people went to Akila and just saw it as a mundane place with very little going on. Then being able to see exactly where the points of interest were on a map and see what I missed on a planet is interesting. I admit I underestimated the benefit of having a local map.

I'm glad they didn't just make difficulty scale about damage done. It actually increases enemy accuracy rewarding better use of cover. A big gripe I had with Fallout 4 was that increasing the difficulty meant that the enemies became damage sponges.

I think the other difficulty options bring a lot more depth to the game in general. Makes it feel more like a proper rpg/simulation without taking it too far. Once your character becomes overpowered it's nice to have an incentive not to just stand out in the open blasting away. Now you have all these annoying debuffs for tanking. And I never cared about sleeping or eating before. Plus, this will force me to actually learn the affliction system.

I wonder how would you cure the affliction system if treatments don't cure it? I'm guessing this will force me to give the character more down time.

I like it On

Yeah, I wanted to try something new and tried it off, but it takes a few seconds or so to recognize which NPCs actually have dialogue options and which ones don't. That gets annoying after a while. Then again the conversation felt much more relaxed to have it off.

60 fps option update today. Curious what they did to hit it considering how much emphasis they put about focusing on 30 fps at launch.

Curious about an update to a game you don't play to see the difference in a version you don't and won't ever own because of a reason that doesn't affect you at all.

Trolling incoming.
