Good to know. SD have made some great games over the years.

A message done like that is unreliable. So if it's false, that's not surprising.

But if it's a trusted source saying a dev is in trouble or that they've had big layoffs, some staff sent out some Tweets saying "it was nice while it lasted", it seems it's always true.
