Tekken 7

Game scheduled for June 2 now. Getting pretty excited for it honestly. Although I should go back to SF5 some more, especially now with story mode, I just don't feel like it's for me. Haven't played Tekken since 5 but I always enjoyed the series back then. Oh yea and the Collector's Edition looks amazing:

What I've seen so far of this game hasn't really interested me, and fighting games used to be my favorite genre before they started declining in popularity.

I've never been crazy with fighting games. Definitely enjoyed them throughout the years mainly Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and Soul Calibur. The new Killer Instinct got me interested in the genre again and I put probably 100 hours into that and probably close to that in MKX as well, but SF5 I didn't really enjoy that much. I'm hoping as much as I like Tekken 3 that I can get back into this so we'll see.

Fighting games used to be one of my favorite genres. Street fight 2, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, Soul Caliber, DOA, etc... But the problem I have is that they rarely offer anything new for single players. DOA, one of my favorite fighters, still has the same basic modes that they've had since DOA 2. When I was single and played all the time, it wasn't a big deal. Now I just don't have the time to practice for hours that would allow me to have fun playing online.

All most of these games have is a really shirt single player story mode and that's about it. I remember Soul Caliber had a more that was almost a bit of a strategy game, where you had an overhead map and you would move to different points and fight different people. It was at least something different.

Side note, DOA needs a character creation mode, or at least a customization mode like all other fighters have now.

PS4/Xbox One Cross-Play Should Happen, Tekken Boss Says
Katsuhiro Harada says he is "trying to champion the cause."

The possibility for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network to connect for cross-platform play is an interesting idea--and it might actually happen. One person who supports the idea of cross-play between the competing platforms for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada.

Speaking to GameSpot at a recent
Tekken 7 event in Sydney, Harada said he has spoken with Microsoft and Sony to try to "champion the cause," but it hasn't paid off just yet. As other developers have said, Harada explained that it's not a technical issue that is holding back PS4/Xbox One cross-play, but instead security protocols and policies are keeping the multiplayer breakthrough from happening.

"Since Tekken has three platforms, to do [cross-play] is much more difficult because fighting games are peer-to-peer, which means you connected directly to your opponent," Harada said through a translator, producer Michael Murray. "That means all the security protocols regarding PSN or Xbox Live, the user IDs and such, is quite difficult to match that--not technologically."

If Tekken 7 were only on one console platform then there could have been cross-platform play between console and PC, just like there is with Street Fighter V (PS4/PC in that case). But that is not the case with Tekken, so the problem persists.

"A lot of players, they don't know the problems involved with this," he explained. "Many assume it's a technical feature and if you overcome it you can do it."

"[But] until there is some kind of progress between the first-parties adapting their security policies and just policy in general regarding online, to allow that, it's not going to be viable at this time," Harada went on to say. "It's not to say that's the case forever. But until they change their policies, there's not a whole lot we can do."

Harada said he has been speaking with Microsoft and Sony about connecting their networks for "quite some time." He has been trying to "champion the cause," but it hasn't gone great.

"Maybe a lot of people don't see that. We have been trying," he said.

I love that the kangaroo is confused after being punched like he didn't think a hooman would fight back.

I think stream embargo is up at like 8AM PT this morning. Although if you aren't a big time streamer they might not care. Hoping to watch Aris play this today.

This series used to be my jam until I discovered soul calibur in the arcades. Yoshimitsu is my baby but for tekken, I gotta be king.

Haven't had a good fighting game in awhile (dont much like street fighter) so I'll probably get this one of these days.

Yea I couldn't get into Street Fighter 5, although haven't tried the story mode they added. I wanted to get into it more but the lack of arcade and other offline modes for a scrub like myself means I moved on.

PC>>Pro>>PS4>>Xbox

All locked at 60fps
Xbox has the better input lag but has missing effects and screen tear during certain moments.

You forgot the Xbox 720p part LOLZ
But its LOLZ across the board with a fake 900p on the PS4 and 1080p on the Pro.
They tricked me as it looks like 1440p on the Pro and it looks damn good.

Have only played through arcade once (Master Raven) and tried several of the old school characters in training. Didn't really know much with Master Raven after only like 10 minutes of training but didn't have too much trouble beating it. Thinking I want to spend more time with Hwoarang as I always enjoyed kicking the s*** out of people.

Also if anyone is interested check out Maximilian's boss rage of this game. Played story mode on 10 star difficulty and it is no joke. Think the final tally was like 10 hours to beat and over 580 deaths lol. I think final boss alone was almost 3 hours and 200 deaths.

Makes sense

- PC wins
- X1 better console gameplay
- PS4 better console graphics

What is with these guys and their annoying hand movements...
And voices

Damn, my eyes have rolled so many times reading recent comments, that they rolled right out of their sockets. Thanks for that.... I am now a blind man.

As for the actual GAME- I played it on my buddy's Pro, and I decided it's not for me. Had Waaay more fun with The DC fighting game.

I hope they reuse some assets from this game and get to work on a new Soul Calibur.

It's been too long.
