Majority of snap polls show Trump won debate by a landslide despite CNN's overwhelming victory for Hillary

CNN awarded Hillary Clinton an overwhelming victory in the first presidential debate - but most snap polls show Trump emerged victorious.

Trump and Clinton tangled over the economy, her use of a private mail server and his unwillingness to release his income tax returns on Monday night.

They engaged in a vigorous back-and-forth on the debate stage at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, as polls showed them locked in a tight race.

However, after the debate's end, polls conducted by a number of media websites showed their readers felt the real estate mogul came out on top.

Trump acknowledged the result, tweeting: 'Wow, did great in the debate polls (except for @CNN - which I don't watch). Thank you!'

CNN's snap poll gave Clinton the win with 62 per cent to Trump's 27.

But the Drudge Report's poll showed Trump fared better with 81.5 per cent of the vote to Clinton's 18.5 while others, including Time, CBS New York and the Washington Times, also saw Trump win the vote.

Clinton edged out Trump in the Star Tribune's poll and one conducted by NBC News.

Good thing that's not how surveying works. Think back to 2012 when Ron Paul swept every single online poll. His supporters, out of desperation, voted over, and over, and over, and so on. There was no representative sample or controls.

Here's the results of PPP's surveys done right after the debate last night. They use a standard survey methodology with sampling. Clinton clearly won the debate.

Apparently we are supposed to give Trump credit for not bringing up Bill's affairs

What a hero

Apparently we are supposed to give Trump credit for not bringing up Bill's affairs

What a hero

The obvious retort to that should be: "Bill had some indiscretions. I respect him and love him as a man, a husband and a father to work things out with him. Maybe if you were as much of a man as him, your ex-wives might have stuck with you when you cheated on them."

Of course Trump would strike back with the "Oh, but I had so much money, they profited bigly(*) from me nailing other broads." He'd end up showing too much pride in his philandering, and somehow expect us to hold Clinton in more disdain for being cheated on than him for being the cheater, but because she's a woman and he's a big yuge man it might just work.

(*) Or big-league, or Begley because maybe she wanted to meet Ed Begley Jr. and this gave her the perfect opening, except of course then Donald would explain that if her opening had been perfect he wouldn't have needed to go sleeping around in the first place, and she really shouldn't have become a fat cow even though the broads do love me, sometimes they *really* love me because I'm yuge down there, if you know what I'm saying.

She has a rock solid answer I am certain of that. Yours would be golden.

Are snap polls reliable? I'm no expert on poll, but reddit is saying all kinds of stuff. General consensus is that online polls belong to Trump, but Hilary won all the scientific ones.

Pretty much every site and poll and Facebook this morning shows Hillary winning by a landslide.

He's a moron lol.

<Trump>I disagree. I've got the best words. I'm yuge in the brains and by the way, in the downstairs area, by the way, it's been said. I'm not saying it, but it's been said, yuge. The mainstream media won't admit it, but they know Hillary's very small downstairs, why won't they say it? It needs to be said, by the way, she's not big down there and she's had her entire adult life to do something about it. That's not winning, and its disgusting that nobody will talk about it. Ivanka, now, there's a woman I can get with, by the way, if she wasn't my daughter, which she might be, they tell me she is but I don't know, I mean, maybe she is. </Trump>

We need a font for this.

Nice one! You got yuge stamina!

Not really. I just copied and pasted that from his response to gender equality at the next debate thanks to the "Next week last night" app for HBO. It went on to talk about her involvement in the Swiss file transfer scandal, which the GOP is about to spend the next three months in Congress, after voting for the gazillionth time on defunding the ACA.

Nope. Especially if a voter can vote again and again and again. As someone else said, in 2012, Ron Paul won every single straw polls or snap polls because his supporter kept on hitting that vote for Ron Paul button again and again and again...Nope. Most majority relialble polls, other than far right one show Hillary clearly won! I knew it was basically over when Trump went basically, "I'm not paying taxes, Ima so smart!"

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/20...fact-checks-first-presidential-debate-n655156
  1. Trump said it's "wrong" that he supported the invasion of Iraq. It's not.
  2. Trump said he told Howard Stern "very lightly, I don't know, maybe, who knows?" about the war in Iraq. Trump actually said "I guess so, yeah."
  3. Trump said Clinton and her campaign started the "birther" movement. They didn't.
  4. Trump said it was "wrong" to say that stop-and-frisk racially profiled individuals. It did.
  5. Trump said ending stop-and-frisk made the city more dangerous. It didn't.
  6. Trump said murder is up in New York City. It's not.
  7. Trump said he "did not say" global warming is a hoax. He did.
  8. Clinton denied that she said TPP was the "gold standard" of trade deals. She did.
  9. Clinton said "the only two" tax returns Trump's released showed he didn't paid taxes those years. They did show that, but the same records show he did pay federal income taxes in three other years.
  10. Trump said "you will learn more" from financial disclosure than from tax returns. You won't.
  11. Clinton said Trump rooted for the housing crisis. He did repeatedly say it could benefit him as an investor.
  12. Trump said "nobody knows" the DNC hack was perpetrated by Russians. U.S. intelligence say they have a "high confidence" it was.
  13. Trump said ISIS controls "a lot of" oil in Libya. They don't.
  14. Trump said the U.S. should have taken Libya's oil. That violates the Geneva Convention.
  15. Trump said he got the first-ever endorsement of ICE earlier in the day and that it was 16,500 Border Patrol agents. He got the endorsement of a union of 6,700 ICE employees earlier in the day. He received the endorsement of another group of 16,500 border patrol agents in March.
  16. Trump said he started his company with a "very small loan in 1975," while Clinton said he got $14 million from his father. She's right: Trump got millions more than he acknowledges.
  17. Trump said Clinton has been fighting ISIS for her entire adult life. It's only been around for a fifth of her adult life.
  18. Trump said Clinton is spending "hundreds of millions" on ads against him. She's spent $96.4 million.
  19. Trump said he "didn't say" women don't deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men. In October, Trump told a young woman who asked if she'd make equal pay under a Trump presidency, "you're gonna make the same if you do as good a job."
  20. Trump said he "never said" pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers. He did.

f***ing Rudy

“If I were Donald Trump I wouldn’t participate in another debate unless I was promised that the journalist would act like a journalist and not an incorrect, ignorant fact-checker,” Giuliani said, according to Politico. “The moderator would have to promise that there would be a moderator and not a fact-checker and in two particular cases an enormously ignorant, completely misinformed fact-checker.”

What in the hell is going on with this weird speaking cadence Trump has? I used to think it was just a salesman gimmick thing.

I think it's the way he appeals to angry uninformed people and to his credit it works with some. He can't offer many details so he uses key words or generalizations or anger. How will you fix things? "Law and order." "The problem is politicians, Muslims, Democrats, the media, Mexicans, laws, etc., etc." "Everything is bad, the worst it ever has been." Dumb people are too dumb to know otherwise. They hear key words or his anger resonates with them.

Trump has changed politics for the worse unfortunately. Future politicians will model his ignorant approach because it'll net them the easy votes.

Sorry. Long rant not all related to what you were getting at.

In a lot of ways, he reminds me of that Tai Lopez a******. Just enough money to spend on looking richer and smarter than he really is.

Journalism, at least when it works properly, is where journalists work to find the truth. I realize that the rise of conservative talk bulls*** radio and "Faux News" has instead transformed it into an exercise in saying what your people want to hear, regardless of actual facts, but if Hillary were to say something like "I never had an email server" they'd s*** bricks if the moderator didn't fact check it.

Don't like being fact-checked? Tell. The. f***ing. Truth.
