Roger Ailes Is Advising Donald Trump Ahead of Presidential Debates

Roger Ailes, the former Fox News chairman ousted last month over charges of sexual harassment, is advising Donald J. Trump as he begins to prepare for the all-important presidential debates this fall.

Mr. Ailes is aiding Mr. Trump’s team as it turns its attention to the first debate with Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, on Sept. 26 at Hofstra University on Long Island, according to four people briefed on the move, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

Two of them said that Mr. Ailes’s role could extend beyond the debates, which Mr. Trump’s advisers see as crucial to vaulting him back into strong contention for the presidency after a series of self-inflicted wounds that have eroded his standing in public opinion polls.

For Mr. Ailes, being connected with Mr. Trump’s campaign could be a form of redemption after he was pushed out of the powerful network that he helped build. And for Mr. Trump, having Mr. Ailes taking a hand in his preparations for the debates adds immeasurably to the messaging and media expertise in his corner — and could raise alarms within Mrs. Clinton’s camp about just how aggressive Mr. Trump plans to be in those encounters.

We have to be careful not to be sold so easily to certain narratives. If you are racist or xenophobic, naturally, you will be for the party that is less globalism, more nationalist and anti-immigration. The mistake is to fall into the narrative that because people vote BRExit, this means they are all racist and xenophobia. Most people on either side just vote what they think best for the country.

Yea I don't think the majority were outright racists. Some joke voted and others didn't understand what they were voting for as well. Some may have though it was about choosing a new cracker.

What's also important to keep in mind is the Milgram Experiment. Having someone in Trumps position who says things like "illegal immigrants are rapists" or the second amendment 'joke'; allows people to absolve themselves of reponsibility because he's the authority and any actions they may take are okay or even proposed by him in their minds.

In general I wish people in authority positions would be more careful of what and how they say things. That's what irritated me about Benie as well, "Social Justice", "Finacial Justice". Using the word 'Justice' creates a natural victim victimizer relationship. I'd have preferred if he used fairness in place of.

As if the Trump camp couldn't become even more of a train wreck. In addition to hiring a multiple time accused sexual deviant, Ailes, he now hires someone from one of the most laughable news sources, Brietbart. Makes sense though since Brietbart isn't a bi-partisan tabloid and has been reaching down to the balls of Trump since his escalator ride to hell. Conway is as delusional as it gets. She fit's right in as his campaign manager.

Trump campaign undergoes major overhaul

Donald Trump's campaign is undergoing a major staff shakeup with less than three months to Election Day, adding two officials to top posts overseeing his struggling campaign.

Trump has named Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News and a former investment banker, to the post of chief executive and promoted Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser and pollster to his campaign, to the position of campaign manager, Conway confirmed to CNN early Wednesday morning.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news of the campaign overhaul.

  • They're coming to get our guns
  • Christians are being persecuted in the US
  • Whites are being persecuted in the US
  • The gays are pushing their agenda
  • Obama is a Muslim
  • Hillary Clinton killed people
  • Hillary Clinton is responsible for Benghazi
  • Immigrants are out to get us
Take your pick. The Conservative media have been pushing an agenda of hate and fear for the last 8 years towards Democrats and they reaped what they sowed. They now have enough of a core base that bought into the snake oil Donald Trump was selling in order for him to win the primary and are now more than likely going to get smoked by historic margins because of it.

I don't have a problem with disagreeing with your political opponent and their views on things, but the vitriol being spewed has turned things really nasty the past few years. That has translated into pure hatred. I've never seen people so angry and I blame the media for that. You now have people who outright hate the other side, to the point that they can't even be friends with people who believe something other than what they do. People have had these news storied fed to them with such frequency that they no longer question whether or not what they believe is right and they are completely certain of it to the point that they actually believe that the other side is evil or trying to destroy the country. That is dangerous in my opinion.
You left out climate change (global warming). Some historians have said that this is when the democrats and republicans started to diverge significantly from the center back in 1998 when the Clinton Administration signed on to the Kyoto Protocol (and the Bush Administration's subsequent withdrawal in 2001).

His campaign is a disaster. The third (maybe, fourth?) overhaul in 4 months. Bringing in a higher up Breitbart person makes sense. Both Breitbart and Trump make s*** up and dummies out their believe them. Seems like a perfect fit.

They go hand in hand. It's a beautiful disaster to watch. I think it's the third reboot.

I read that he feels that his campaign has been doing poorly since the primary because they tried to be more centrist and that they fired the manager and are going to revert to their old ways.

No...you're right, its not all the stupid crap you've been saying...its that you tried to be more "centrist"!

So what he is saying is he should have kept Lewandowski all along. THEY DON"T GET SARCASM! SAD!

I love how polls all of the sudden don't matter to Trump and Trump supporters. For months all we heard about were "polls" this and "polls" that. Now, since he's trailing by nearly double digits nationally, they don't care.

When trump supporters down here are confronted with Trumps dangerous rhetorics on the use of nuclear warfare, they respond "well I don't think trump all have that much power over the use of our nukes." Basically admitting trump is too dangerous and stupid to not need handholding and a steel cover over the big red button. A president of the United States that needs constant babysitting sounds ridiculous.

Not surprising.....

Trump Casinos’ Tax Debt Was $30 Million. Then Christie Took Office.

By the time Chris Christie became governor of New Jersey, the state’s auditors and lawyers had been battling for several years to collect long-overdue taxes owed by the casinos founded by his friend Donald J. Trump.

The total, with interest, had grown to almost $30 million. The state had doggedly pursued the matter through two of the casinos’ bankruptcy cases and even accused the company led by Mr. Trump of filing false reports with state casino regulators about the amount of taxes it had paid.

But the year after Governor Christie, a Republican, took office, the tone of the litigation shifted. The state entertained settlement offers. And in December 2011, after six years in court, the state agreed to accept just $5 million, roughly 17 cents on the dollar of what auditors said the casinos owed.

Tax authorities sometimes settle for lesser amounts to avoid the costs and risks of further litigation, legal experts said, but the steep discount granted to the Trump casinos and the relationship between the two men raise inevitable questions about special treatment.

“You can’t tell whether there’s something problematic, but it’s pretty striking that this one was written down so much,” said David Skeel, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School who specializes in bankruptcy law and reviewed the case at the request of The New York Times.
