Your moms room
Anyone else get stuck in "The completion hell hole", this is the state where you can't move on to new games because you still haven't beat your current game? I have 5 games that i bought and want to play but can't because i have still yet to finish all of Fallout. I have over 130 hours in so far and it's still such a great game but i want to be done with it already and move on. I feel like if i start on a new game and then come back later i will have forgotten the story or the controls or that it just won't be the same.

Anyone?

Yeah, I have a few uncompleted games I really want to finish and it is keeping me from buying new titles right now that I know I would enjoy. And then I fire up my PS4/X1 at night and invariably play a few hours of Rocket League and call it a night. LOL.

Yeah I have a stack of games to play that I haven't touched, going back to the holiday sales last fall. Too many cheap digital titles than I have time to play.

Yep. Most recent was Xenoblade Chronicles X. Fun game but just kept dragging on. End of game difficulty spiked up and I didn't feel like grinding so I just looked up the ending on YouTube lol.

That is part of my hesitation in getting involved in Fallout. It will take so long to get through, what if I want to play something in the interim? I like to finish one game before moving on to the next.

My backlog of just current games:

-Fallout 4 - played a bit but barely scratched the surface
-Witcher 3 - Played the first mission
-Dishonored - Never touched
-Saints Row 4 - Never touched
-Gears Ultimate - Never touched (I still never finished Gears 1 last gen as my 360 died and took my save)
-Rocket League - love it but barely played
-Borderlands 1, 2 and the prequel - never touched
-Rainbow Six Siege - played about 15 times (love it no time)
-Rory McElroy PGA Golf - played 1 hole
-Farcry 4 - about 1/2 way thru
-Geometry Wars 3 - played twice, got dizzy. Stopped
-Madden 16 - never played (free though through EA access)
-NHL 16 - played like 5 games
-Star Wars Battlefront - played a bit, not been back.

How much money is tied up in these games? Granted a lot were on sale. How many hours would I have to play to put a dent in that???

I own all these games, yet all I play are Destiny, Division and Forza.

Do they have gamers anonymous groups? :yfreak:

Damn you, I had completely forgotten about The Witcher. Add another freaking game to the list of games I need to finish. Don't worry so much about Forza 4, there is no way in the world to finish that game. On the bright side I did start playing Rainbow Six Siege last night and I'm in love....

Kerosene, sadly my list may very much look like yours but I am too scared to write it out. You have at least made me feel better about my own backlog but at the same time...we got issues!
:laugh::really:

My list looks very much like Kerosenes, heck I even sell games that I haven't finished that I just don't have the time/desire to play.

And i pretty much only play Division, Battlefield and Fifa with a smattering of titles here and there.

I have essentially this whole gen worth of games that I haven't completed yet, minus like 4 or 5 lucky games I got all the way through. Still keep buying more games though. I've been trying to slow down lately though.

Ever since the start of last gen i can't really play more than one game at a time. I have to complete the game i'm playing before moving on. That's how i've always been but throw in achievements/trophies and even more so. My minor OCD will be the death of me.

Back in the PS1/N64 days i'd go for 100% completion in games, trying to unlock every secret but i'd still play other games in between. These days, i can't do it. Like the OP said games are more complex and it just doesn't feel right to quit midway and come back to them later.

I have a decent sized backlog, but that's only because I love to buy games on the cheap. However after trying to work through that backlog over the past several months, I've realized that I'd rather play a game I love 5 times than play 5 mediocre games 1 time. So that makes most of my backlog disappear, and I'm just rolling through some of my favorites now. Rotating through Blood Dragon, From Dust, and Watch Dogs now and loving it! Will be rotating in Bioshock 2 and Gears 3 as soon as I can as well.

I hear that. I just finished off Gears 3 this weekend - I had never actually gotten around to getting it on the 360. I think for me, the problem isn't necessarily not being able to start a different game, since I generally will either play a game through to completion or not, but more for games like Forza or Elite:Dangerous, once I break away for a while to play another game, I don't often go back.

I'm with you on that. Sometimes i'd rather just play some Gears multiplayer or NBA 2k instead of putting lots of hours into a single player game, but once i start a game, that's it. It's like signing a contract. The only games i haven't finished this gen after starting is Watch Dogs and The Witcher 3. Couldn't really get into WD, and i tried playing TW3 right after finishing Bloodborne. Big mistake. RPG overload.

I wish I could be like that! So many of these games that I buy super cheap I end up leaving half finished. I'm a little that way with games that I love. I mean now that I started blood dragon I will be completing the game again. If a game isn't that great to you will you still finish it no matter what?

I try not to put myself in that situation. I usually do my research on games so i'm not surprised at how bad a game is. But i have played and finished some really bad games over the years for achievements, lol. Alone in the Dark was a game i wanted to stop playing, because the controls were just awful. The game itself was pretty cool though.
