The history of Teamxbox. Share your stories.

Back in very early 2002 when IGN started to charge for posting in their forums (seriously,f*** you Tal) and almost everyone from the Xbox forum migrated to TXB,myself included. Serenity (where is she these days?) was a very welcoming hostess. But since then there are still people from those old forums (the non-gaming ones) that I've bumped into the weirdest of places on the Web.

My now, very old, home theater set up was very TXB oriented. Being a moderator and stay-at-home dad meant I had a lot of free time on my hands (between chores and kids). The faceplate, the dashboard wallpaper, and the OTL Podcast playing on my original Xbox 360 Pro- that I believe I may have joined in on. Sadly, I no longer have the OTL podcast link or file to re-listen to it in all of it's glory.

Whoa, what theme is that? I think we need a UGF theme for the 360. Might try and cook one up myself.

Twitter background and TXB Custom Wallpaper that I used on the Xbox 360 dashboard.. I believe Shockwave posted these on TXB way back when.

Hmm.. any TXB-themed MySpace layouts?
I remember when sites started to try and be their own social network, similar to myspace. Obviously TXB had a little something-something that I considered to be myspace-esque. I remember Adult Swim used to have one, I was a member of both, but back in earlier AS days, their forums were my stomping grounds. I tried getting back into it here and there, but it's beyond me now. It's changed so much.

TXB did try.. TXBase. It was more of a blog atmosphere than strictly social though. I think that everyone just enjoyed the social aspects of the forums to bother with TXBase as much. Now it seems most folks are using Twitter, Vine, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Yeah, TXBase was what I was referring to. Forums were just easier to use though. For a forum crowd, I think trying to add on to that initial experience isn't the best of ideas.

Hey,it's Player #13. The only one missing is Tom,which I hope he never comes here because I hate his ass for unjustly banning me.

I remember way back when Morrowind came out. We all talked about our experiences, tips, and homes we set up shop in. Game was huge for its time.

That is what seriously bugs me about this new hardware gen: No Elder Scroll to play in the launch window. :(

(I also remember that cockbag CJ banning me for posting a picture that said "Boom Headshot" In a story about a kid who killed his parents over Halo. Good laugh there.)

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Teenage me carried too much power.

I have so much crap saved from Teamxbox, including the entire ban/log list.

Holy crap dude, if I could get that today, it'd be bought in a minute. My 360 can still use those face plates since I never got a black 360. Please tell me it's real...

I think I might still have mine (Brand new in box) would you still want it?

I joined back in 2002 I think. Towards the end I forgot my password and I tried to get it reset but it was tied to an AOL account that was defunct so I wasn't able to post there for a few years. The site had gotten so big it just didn't feel like home anymore at that point anyways. I wasn't inner circle there but I'm pretty sure I had 20,000 + posts over the years. Was really my first involvement with an internet forum.

No it's just collecting dust, I think I've seen it a few times and nearly thrown it out.
I guess I could take it off of your hands. PM me if you want to mail it or whatever. Maybe I can give you something in return. Do you still game or anything?

Well TXB is the only forum I've met people I played online with.

Cod4 with Clubba and some others. Played it quite a bit actually and he was a genuinely funny guy. Good times.

Now long ago.

I have one of these as well. I'd never give mine up though. Even though it is collecting dust.

I think I started a TXB Over 25 Clan for Halo 2 because I got sick of playing with little kids. It was a pretty good and we wound up doing a 2 v 2 tournament that was a ton of fun. I think I still have a few people on my friends list from back then.
