I'm sure you've heard of it or have been "Nominated." It's so ridiculous. In case you've lived under a rock, people pour ice water on themselves in the name of ALS, Lou Gherig's disease. Before doing so they nominate three people. Those people have to do it or donate $100 to an ALS charity instead. Everyone's friggin' doing it. I was nominated a couple times. I refuse to do it because it's pretty stupid at this point. Sure, it brings awareness to ALS but the vast majority of people aren't doing a damn thing but being attention whores.

Anyway, here are some celebrity videos of it. These are the ones that I like. They're still attention whoring but in a different way.

And obviously there will be some fails.

Though it's annoying to see so many people just trying to get some free attention on Facebook, I say give them their 2 minutes if it in turn spreads awareness and helps the cause. It has turned in to quite a phenomenon though and that in itself is pretty cool.

I just want to nominate random people I see on the street and throw ice water on them. That way I can preempt the inevitable.
It really is that stupid at this point.

Eh, it's fine to me. Fun for those doing it, and it's raised a ton of cash so far. I've had fun watching the actual challenges, the fails, and the ones Plainview posted up with 50 Cent and Charlie Sheen. All in all, successful viral campaign is huge success.

I tried to start the golden shower challenge and pissed on a random woman in public all I got was hand cuffed and thrown in jail.

I'm so f***ing sick of everyone doing this god damn dumb f***ing thing f***ing attention whoring and just doing it so they can feel a part of something. They never give a f*** before so it's all over the net they all care I f***ing hate that bandwagon s***.

I've been doing it or years when someone flashes or turns on water while I was in the shower. Also please don't pretend you give a damn about rising awareness about a disease when you did not give a crap about it before it become an internet fad.

I now like 50 Cent for that.

Bill Gates did the best one so far.

It's hard for me to get mad at something lile this. Especially if it raises awareness for a good cause. But it is kind of goofy.

It's like someone getting their Grandma to do the Harlem Shake or twerk for a Youtube video.

I was nominated and just donated $10 without dumping ice or nominating people. I got thrown under the bus for doing so from my sister's fiance. Talk about peer pressure, sheesh.

Liam Gallagher did it

Nominated Spongebob Square Pants, Ivor The Engine and his brother.

I don't mind celebrities doing it cause it brings awareness but so many of these average people doing it come of as clear attention seeking with many of them not knowing what the disease actually does. Many are even giving to different charities.

I had to do it. I didn't want to be a d1ck. I'm not one to really post alot online. Money goes to a good cause.

Even if it is a good cause I see people video tap themselves with a cup of ice water! WTF?
also how about the Ebola challenge? OR the AIDS challenge?

And yet the ALS research funding has been cut by 2/3 by your crony house of reps.

I also find it kind of stupid by now. Most people just wanna make a video on FB and say "look at me". I got nominated yesterday. I am just going to donate sometime this week. Really do not feel like making a video I'm busy with work all week and other stuff after work every day.

I got nominated and donated the $100 and my sister posted "C'mon, I did it" like I should be ashamed for not dumping the water on myself. Told her it was about raising money for a good cause and not about me dumping icy water on myself. Now I'm seeing other challenges starting to pop up, one for suicide prevention because of Robin Williams. I'm all for donating to a good cause if you have the money but I can see this getting way too carried away and people trying to shame other people into donating or doing the stunt. People should do it because they want to. And I didn't nominate anyone either.

I'm sick of hearing people claim that they are sick of hearing people say they are sick of the ice bucket challenge.
