Security information and event management (SIEM)
Apparently security people monitor logs all day and look for anything odd. Sounds simple enough, but of course I have zero background in that kind of thing. That whole field of study didn't exist when I went to college.
No way in hell I'm doing something that boring unless they can pay me enough to retire in a few years.
I've been seeing a horrible multicar accident on the news the last 2 days and felt weird about it and was sure I was going to know who it was. Found out today that it was my niece who I've never met because I distanced myself from my brother many years before. She already was involved in a horrible accident years before that she barely made it through. It wasn't even that far from the same area of interstate my brother was killed on. I feel bad because I never attempted to meet her whenever her mom tried to visit and I'd decline. Same with my brothers second wife and 2 kids...never met them either. I just feel terrible not attempting to meet these people, but I'd feel bad anyway due to reliving the horrible childhood I endured because of my brother. I wish I could've been more like him and not have a conscience.
I knew he was still alive. I remember him being in the news in recent years talking about how creepy Hollywood was behind the scenes as they grew up.
f*** man, that's rough.... I think it would help to talk with someone about all this, and of course you can talk to us here and we'll listen whenever you want us to. But I think a good psychologist would perhaps be better suited to scramble it all out and help with acceptance and such.
Personally I just burry these things deep down and hope they don't surface that often, but I'm pretty sure that's not the best way to go about it.
That's how I always go about things, but hard to avoid when you're watching TV and old family members are on there talking about it. It's just weird...like one of the countless random bad dreams I have that never make sense. I feel like a bad human for not talking to them all these years, but I'd also feel bad if I did. The news story yesterday was the same exact date 22 years ago my brother was killed the same way. Really strange stuff.
Random thought here but E bikes need to be regulated and you should have to be 16 to ride one. Kids in this area are crazy, they do wheelies in the middle of 50mph streets, the speed down sidewalks almost running over old people and they are terrors in parking lots lol. I hate sound like an old man but the people in the area I work in call them "biker gangs" and then laugh at how stupid those kids are. I'm surprised more isn't made about this, these idiot parents who go out and by a 10 year old a bike that can go up to 30mph on the sidewalk should be ashamed of themselves.
That takes me to another thing, kids today are out of control. They have no respect for their elders, they mouth off to people and scream "I feel threatened" and they even say "I'm a minor you can't do anything to me" like WTF kind of society are we in now? That takes me back to the E bikes, get those little s***s regular bikes so they are made to peddle and burn off some of that energy lol.
That takes me to another thing, kids today are out of control. They have no respect for their elders, they mouth off to people and scream "I feel threatened" and they even say "I'm a minor you can't do anything to me" like WTF kind of society are we in now? They are, and it all depends on the type/class. Like motorcycles and mopeds, mainly depending on capable speed and motor size. But in this case, for both of your points blame should be placed in parents first, then society then the IQ of said existing members
Funny how my 3 children act nothing like this, have manners in public, and respect adults. All in how you raise them…

Good parenting is very important.
There is a saying, that you can judge a person by the way their kids behave. Continue the good work.
I went hiking with my usual hiking group, & talked to some people about what we do.
2 of them were software engineers, & after talking a while, I told them I was working on a game, that I unfortunately not finishing.
I told them what I told others, It was hard to do solo, the hours after work etc. But eventually I am confronted the the top reason I stopped development when the game was 70% done & the supposed hard work was mostly done ( all the technical, programming stuff).
Which is I worry the game will be a commercial failure & all my years of work will be for nothing. I don't need the money, but imagine years of work & you get low sales. It would be demotivating. Thats the real reason I am unable to proceed.
On hindsight, I should start by making simpler games, like some 2d platformers. But I did learn a lot of game development.
I have to think about if I want to continue the last 30% & release for closure, or try something new.
I also had a look at my youtube channel, & the videos on the process of making 3D & painting/printing get far more views than others, so maybe that will be my direction. Making guides while showing start to finish for a 3D print models. Its something at least I can confidently say I am good at. 3D modeling/figurine making.

I am starting my next 3D print project. I will try to make progress/ guide videos for YouTube for it as well

I managed to finish a digital painting. After casually watching a paint tutorial while playing Balder's gate.
This is the end result: I could have spend another day to refine this, but I am not paid for painting & it achieve the purpose to improving my artwork.
I plan to refine the Jean Grey pose (4 post above) as I am not feeling the current one. ALso maybe get some BG3 progression.

Reworked Classic Jean Grey Pose for 3D print . Took me 1.5 days of work. Didn't managed to play BG3...

That's amazing. I wish I could do stuff like that, but I can't even draw a circle without messing it up.

About $350 a month for my wife and I. And we usually go out to eat every Friday night and Saturday night, so that is not in my total.
I’m including like laundry detergent, trash liners and all that little dollar store trip type stuff. Toilet paper etc…
