The RROD and the Xbox 360...

Their response couldn't have been much better... but when you go to work all day and can't wait to get home to play a game you are picking up after work and then get an RROD... and realize it'll be 2 weeks before you can play...

It sucks.

People buy products to be able to use them 24/7.. not randomly have to take 2 week breaks.

I lucked out.. launch 360 that never died.. even through 100's of hours of Oblivion and many many hours with games like Mass Effect and the Rainbow Six series.
My launch console made it through Mass Effect, but then died I think like a month later. I thought it'd hit the bucket during ME though. I put so many hours into that. Funny thing is, by the time I went to take ME out of the disc drive the drive wouldn't open. I had to pry it open with a knife.

lol, that is kinda funny.

I also was a habitual "left my console on for days" person too. My XBL friends would always send me PM's on forums like "Why have you been in the dashboard for 3 days?" lol.

That thing just kept on ticking.. got a bright red drink spilled on it at a party too.. actually sort of half thrown at it (long story).. it was all sticky inside and I had to occasionally pull the drive tray out myself as the motor would only be able to push it like an inch.

Fortunately (I guess) I only had to go through one RROD that Microsoft repaired (replaced) for free. I guess I got lucky.

I still had my n64 around at the time. Played Ocarina of Time during one of the down periods of my 360 repair. My brother left his PS2 at our house and I was able to play a ton of PS2 games as a result, including Kingdom Hearts, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Jak 3, and Devil May Cry. Once I got my 360 back though, it was back to the xbox for me.
