Official Thread The Switch Thread

I just started playing the Switch again. When I initially bought my Pro Controller there was something wrong with it, sends my characters in wrong directions, input lag, and disconnects. Sending it to Nintendo is a PITA. I wanted a second Pro Controller for my girl so we can play MK8 (she hates the regular switch controller) so I bought a second Pro Controller, kept it and swapped my broken pro controller into it's box and exchanged it for a new one, and voila 2 brand new working pro controllers. Now I think I am going to have to send in my Joycons because they are doing the same thing, input lag, disconnecting, blah blah.
Yea I noticed that with my joycons when playing Splatoon. I haven't had it actually disconnect, but definitely horrible lag when aiming. Not sure if there is something interfering with it. My Switch in dock is behind my TV so not sure if that might be part of it. Haven't really cared to do anything about it since I plan on grabbing a Pro Controller at some point.

Yea I think we got early version's of the joycons that need to have the foam fix from Nintendo, I might actually send those in because I can play my switch with the pro controller. It's just a PITA, ya know?

Well as luck would have it the target by my house had 5 switches in stock. So I finally picked one up at msrp.

Grabbing NBA Live last night Best Buy had a stack under the customer service counter. Looked like it had a date on it so still seems to be limited stick, but last few times I've gone they've had 5-6 consoles there.

Cool! Welcome!

For Switch exclusive games, I would recommend Mario + Rabbids and ARMS as well as Splatoon 2. If you never had a Wii U, then Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda are must-owns.

I'm probably going to go with Marion + Rabbids until the heavy hitters, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 show up in the fall. I had a Wii U so MK8 and Zelda are off the table.

So it seems like third party support has been solid to start. Guess it's not saying much considering Wii U had decent support at launch but i think devs are going to get it done this time around. Hard to ignore the most innovative console on the market.

Just realized that Golf Story came out yesterday digitally. $14.99 and the reviews I see say it is one of the best games released this year on Switch. I am all in and will give my thoughts after I play it a bit tonight.

I thought for a second they were porting Skyrim to the SNES.

Seriously can't put this game down. The golf itself is a fair challenge (3-click) and there is plenty to do always along with witty dialog. The uniqueness of having a golf story is something I can't help but wonder why it has never been done before. Here is a review that gives better details.

For those too lazy to click, they gave it a "9" and this site doesn't hand out high scores like candy.

Nintendo to launch Switch in China?

"Nintendo shares are now trading at their highest value since March 2008 after rising 2.66% in Tokyo on Friday, gaining a total 77% since the beginning of 2017.

"The news comes amid speculation that the Switch could soon be released in China following the announcement that the smash-hit mobile game Honour of Kings was coming to western markets via the Switch.

"Honour of Kings reportedly accounts for around 50% of publisher Tencent's mobile revenue and has over 200 million users in the region. By managing to strike a deal with Tencent, Nintendo could be well positioned to release in China, and the portable format of the Switch plays into the handheld dominated market where the Xbox One and Playstation 4 enjoy little success initially."

Soooo I just bought a Switch about 3 days ago. Playing Zelda BOTW while on the can is absolutely amazing! I was skeptical of the system at first but now I'm hooked.

Productivity at my IT job has decreased exponentially.

Thanks Nintendo.

I've heard good things about it. Have fun. I can't get past the 2-d graphics myself.

I'm torn between the reserve I have for the Mario switch bundle or jumping ship and getting the splatoon 2 bundle just for the green and red controllers :yx:
