The Wolf Among Us - 2024

I decided to wait for them to finish it but now ill just get the Xbox One version.

So, the first season has wrapped up. I've seen it getting good reviews. It gets criticism for technical bugs aplenty, which is par for the course for Telltale. Lots of compliments for the story.

I hope it comes to the PS4 soon. I can't play it, until it does.

I plan on playing the game tonight. Starting with the first episode to refresh my memory.

I enjoyed season 1. The twist and turns were pretty good. The only complaint I could levy is that Telltale need to get on a schedule with the episode releases. IMO the episodes are spaced too far from each other.

Yeah, the first episode came out Oct. 11. That means it took 9 months to release 4 additional episodes. That's an average wait of 2 and 1/4 months between each episode. Way too long.

Finished the game, hope there will be a season 2.

I believe Season 1 will be available for download tomorrow, Tuesday 11/4. Just a reminder for those who might be interested. I plan to buy it.

Having played through all episodes, I'd have to say that The Walking Dead is more compelling and has better characters. Wolf Among Us has its moments but can drag a little.

Looked for it on the PS store but didn't see it. Will check later.

edit: got it, downloaded.

I'm nearly finished (halfway through the last episode), so here are some brief impressions. The game isn't as engrossing as The Walking Dead. Something about the writing, the character development (or lack of it), and the fantasy setting makes it hard to care about any of the characters. The story mostly involves tracking down a killer, which seems all too familiar a storyline.

There are plenty of spots where the dialog doesn't line up with what has come before, and that takes you out of the action. It gives the game a "rough" feel, like it didn't have enough time in the oven. There are numerous audio glitches. The combat, if you want to call it that, is very simple, like in TWD. I got a little tired of jamming on the X button.

I'm pretty lukewarm on it, overall. I'd give it a C+, maybe B-. I played it in order to pass some time while I'm waiting for DA:I. It did the job well enough -- it passed the time. But it just didn't pack the emotional whallop that TWD did (I guess Season 1 of TWD is my touchstone for Telltale's work and something I keep expecting them to live up to). I just didn't find myself connecting to any of the characters, and none of the choices seemed particularly hard. I doubt I'll play Season 2, if there is one.

Playing it on Xbox one.

Still has some of the bugs but good to see its not as jumpy at the start of scenes like it was on the 360.

That's a surprise. I liked the first game. I may not jump right in, because I'm feeling a bit tired of what feels like "the Telltale formula," lately. I know a lot of people were looking forward to this, though, so that's good.

Also good to hear they're wrapping up Walking Dead next year. Time to send Clem off into the sunset.

I hope they eventually get to season 2 of Tales from the Borderlands. That was my favorite (apart from TWD Season 1).

What they need to do is get better animators. Period. It just looks amateurish to me. Since these games are so scripted, they should have amazing animation, imo.

It's the engine. Utter s*** and made batman hard to play.

They also need to add some actual gameplay now.

Yeah, I'm surprised that with all the success they've had, they haven't invested in a better engine. I guess maybe that takes time to implement, but they've had plenty. And lots of money rolling in.

I agree. Tales from the Borderlands was surprisingly good in the fact that I couldn't guess what would happen next.

Yeah. After seeing Dragonball Z fighters, they should look into UE4. It even has really in depth cinematic tools...

Amazing game! Beat it 3 weeks ago. IMO the best telltale game. At first thought it was borderlands but the Wolf Amongs Us is slightly better.

The first one was a long time ago. I don't even remember the story. I guess this sucks for the 100 people in the world that's looking forward to this.
