I'm nearly finished (halfway through the last episode), so here are some brief impressions. The game isn't as engrossing as The Walking Dead. Something about the writing, the character development (or lack of it), and the fantasy setting makes it hard to care about any of the characters. The story mostly involves tracking down a killer, which seems all too familiar a storyline.
There are plenty of spots where the dialog doesn't line up with what has come before, and that takes you out of the action. It gives the game a "rough" feel, like it didn't have enough time in the oven. There are numerous audio glitches. The combat, if you want to call it that, is very simple, like in TWD. I got a little tired of jamming on the X button.
I'm pretty lukewarm on it, overall. I'd give it a C+, maybe B-. I played it in order to pass some time while I'm waiting for DA:I. It did the job well enough -- it passed the time. But it just didn't pack the emotional whallop that TWD did (I guess Season 1 of TWD is my touchstone for Telltale's work and something I keep expecting them to live up to). I just didn't find myself connecting to any of the characters, and none of the choices seemed particularly hard. I doubt I'll play Season 2, if there is one.
