Not happy still about the Kinect-less SKU. It just means that people don't get the awesome advantages of voice commanding your TV and satellite and audio.

It's good they got this out of the way for the E3 announcements....they must have something awesome to share at E3

I'll agree, but I still think options is a good thing. The only and best way to promote Kinect is to let your friends try it in your place. And if ppl doesn't care about Kinect they now have the option to choose

Put it like this. It's their loss.

One thing i really do appreciate is that they have announced this now and not during E3. For sure they would have made the audience cheer and applaud if they did that during E3, but they want to keep E3 for games. Kudos!

Being discussed by mods for all console discussion sticky thread. Andy posted this in the PS4 thread.....

How would you guys feel about shutting down this thread and spreading discussion out into separate threads? Any strong feelings, one way or the other?

The logic to shutting it down would be that by doing so, the PS4 Xbox One forum might be a little more lively. As it is, a lot of miscellaneous stuff gets talked about here, but it usually doesn't get much traction. It attracts a couple of posts, then we move on. I'm thinking that if we didn't have this "miscellaneous" thread where people put all their miscellaneous talk, it might get them to create more threads and more variety. I'm thinking that if the subjects got a little more attention (by each having their own thread), they might get more attention and discussion. We could start a bunch of smaller threads on the types of subjects that get discussed here -- who owns the console, who just bought it, what game you're playing, what you're looking forward to playing next, issues with the controller or lightbar Kinect, etc.

I don't know, though, and I wanted to get some input. What do you guys think?

make it so... #1

This is the only thread that's mostly policed from vs crap. Why would you get rid of it?

Trying to make the PS4 forum "more lively" is just going to lead to more drive by trolling by the usual posters. Better that it's ignored as they almost certainly have nothing productive or insightful to say about Sony or PS.

Well that says enough that you have to find ways to make a thread more lively. To be fair theres not alot of talk about on the sony side except "coming soon!" Just look at all there AAA game threads, buried or low activity. Not just on UGF either.

I think we should wait and see, after e3 there will be so many new games to discuss. Let's keep it as it is for awhile.

I would prefer separate sections dividing the consoles.

why fix something that isn't broken? its fine as it is.

No, all forums still stay the same. We're talking about the console specific thread, like this one. They're generally the ones with the most issues and are are rarely on topic and take too much effort to keep them on topic.

In that case, make it so.

That is fine. I thought that was what you meant initially but then I must have misread it this morning. :).

All they're doing is copying from Sony's playbook and offering the same entry level price as the PS4. They've just changed marketing strategies, that's all.

All the good will gained from fixing the RROD consoles and generally being a company I could trust at their word, MS has lost a lot of credibility with me. Going into E3 I don't think was the right time to throw your fans trust away. E3 is when promises are most important. We trust them to bring all these great games out and make them look and run the best they can. I'm not so sure I can trust anything I see at E3 already what with high end PC's being used to show X1 games on. This move does not help. The games shown better be using the Xbox One console and not PC's. Gameplay not glossed up prerendered cut scenes. Put up or shut up.

There are many ways round this stuff though. You can put an IR blaster and a speaker directly in the console. All you would be missing then is the auto log in. Even if a headset was needed, it is a happy medium that I think the masses could live with. Plus, if it was with ahead set from the start, you would not miss what you never had.
So requiring wife to turn on controller to give it commands or having to wear headset doesn't make it Living room system anymore, but instead personal bedroomthing.

A lot of the time this thread just repeats what already has a separate thread anyway.

I say keep it, this way we get all news in one place

Any last words before I shutter the Xbox One Thread v6.1 thread?

You haven't steered us wrong yet in your decisions at Union. Make it happen.
