That got canned. You just get voice controls now and something about tapping the side of your head.
Yet a good 1080p web cam can easily cost $100. Considering what else the Kinect is capable of I don't think it's priced outrageously.
It also has the benefit of making a Kinect/X1 bundle look like a bargain which again will increase the uptake.
I know Kinect as a motion gaming peripheral has not proven itself outside dance and party games, the new Kinect is so much more than that. To anyone picking up a standalone X1 soon, I wholeheartedly recommend picking a preowned one if your on the fence, you will have a much better experience with X1. It's hard to put into words the benefits but it's great with or without gaming.

You can use voice commands to navigate around the "hub" in between missions, and also voice commands to tell your wingman to either take the lead or fall back.
Yeah in order to give voice commands you have to put your hand up in the air, but putting it next to your ear works most of the time too.

Sounds about right. I'm pretty sure the cost to build is right around $100. MS is going to mark it up after that to get margins. The piece meal approach may work for some. I imagine some potential early adopters looked at the price of the box with Kinnect and started doing the math of extra controller, game, and a year of Live and thought you know what Kinnect is nice and all but I don't NEED it right now. Let's take that out and knockdown the price to a better number. Maybe I come back to it when I can.
Price is about right, They need to make money from kinect.

Considering it's worth around $0.00 to me, I'll be happy with whatever I get for it. This announcement should help push up the price on eBay. I look forward to putting it up for sale this weekend and putting some extra cash in my pocket while removing unnecessary/unused clutter from my entertainment center.
It comes with a game. That's why it's $149.. lol. People are selling Kinect on Amazon and eBay for $99 tops.

Also the software that comes with it is great. My daughter players Lets dance 14 and also she can call my mom over skype.

You can skype and game at the same time? That's pretty damn cool. I've been skyping a lot as of late so that's good to know. Is it video skype though?
Wow the whole internet gaming news are just twisting words like crazy. How come not on article said its a bundle with a game as a title instead its a stand alone to make it seem like its not bundled.
I have done skype and gaming together...but I wish it wasn't a snapped Skype window, but a picture in picture window in the game instead...so my gaming screen remained full screen.

That's cool. I used to be balls deep into the Rewards system, but it got less savory once they switched from points.
