butMore gaming rumors

- David Cage initially wasn't going to sign with Sony after completion of Heavy Rain to publish what became Beyond : Two Souls, hence why post release in numerous interviews he would tout Heavy Rains better than expected sales, he was trying to sell himself to other publishers. None of them were interested, Sony bit because they didn't have many exclusives and Quantic Dream had no choice.
- Microsoft uses Ryse as a performance benchmark internally. Presently - post SDK improvements -the game is topping at a variable 50-60fps at 900p, the team believes it could crack a"mostly locked" 60fps at 1080p by the middle of next year.
- Evolution Studios is going to suffer significant layoffs in 4-5 months time. This is due to lukewarm reception and the extended troubled development of Driveclub (in addition to lack of direction with the last two motorstorm games). If the studio survives, it's likely going to be re-focused to small digital titles.
- There is definitely going to be a Gears of War collection released in late 2015 similar to the Master Chief collection, though the visuals will merely be updated and tweaked, this won't be a full on remake (ala Anniversary), but will include a Beta to Gears of War 4 (due November 15th 2016) and a cross-game lobby of ALL Gears of War game maps.
- Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End will no longer be shipping with split-screen campaign co-op due to technical issues.
- Halo Wars is definitely coming back. Microsofts intention is for the series to act as bridges between mainline Halo games, effectively replacing/accompanying Spartan Ops type expansions. Full voice and Kinect support accompany controller based gameplay.
- Sony is planning PS4 games to release on Playstation Now, the initial intention is to give a 12-18 month exclusivity window for the native PS4 versions.
- Microsoft have a similar timed exclusivity window with 2 as yet unannounced third party publisher(s?) as they have with The Rise of the Tomb Raider. One new IP, the other existing. The existing one is a much bigger deal than Tomb Raider.
- Scalebound has Online co-op along the lines of a multiplayer Shadow of the Collossus
- Microsoft is monitoring Forza Horizons impact as an IP, in the event of franchise fatigue they have the option of reverting to a Project Gotham Title.
It does but not as much as a year ago. Its mostly pretty hardcore players now and lots of "groups/clans"
I'd rather they keep Judgement in. I never played the full game, but I found the MP beta to be quite a bit of fun. It'll be nice to have a new experience in the collection for those who skipped Judgement on the 360.Been calling a Gears Of War collection since the Halo collection was announced. Give me the medal system from Gears Of War 3 across all 3 games (let's just skip Judgement) and Horde Mode from Gears 3 over all maps, and boy, that would be top notch.
GoW:J had a metacritic of 79, with no negative reviews on the critic side. It has a 5.3 in users scores with 313 positive, 87 average, and 271 negative. Hardly the universal panning as you described.Judgement was pretty much universally panned by critics and fans of the series alike.
5.3 by users is a panning. This is Gears Of f***ing War. It was the worst game in the series, bar none.
No, it shows HALF of the Gears of War fanbase panned it, which is really less than half, but I'm being generous. Again, not the universal panning you made it out to be.5.3 by users is a panning. This is Gears Of f***ing War. It was the worst game in the series, bar none.
i personally enjoyed Judgment campaign more than 2 & 3.
I agree. The storyline was non-existent, but it was pure fun.i personally enjoyed Judgment campaign more than 2 & 3.
I'd love if Microsoft made a Gears HD collection, but I'm not sure if it makes sense for them to make it.
Friends list is having issues this evening. It might be me but is there is something odd about Xbox live?
I can't see friends online or my Xbox smart glass not working right.
Agreed.Making money is all the reason that they need. They're not re-releasing these games for the hell of it or out of respect for the past, but to put out a new product in-between the main releases. Besides, Gears of War will be 10 years old in two years. Who knows how long it'll be before a new Gears game comes out, but I'm willing to guess that a Gear collection will feature an entire beta for the new one, similar to Halo 5 in MCC. Odds are that MS will release one of the two first and release that game the following year. In my opinion, they should release the collection first and in 2016. 2015 will have Halo 5, Fable Legends, Quantum Break, and possibly Forza Motorsport 6. Although, I don't see a Gears of War collection hurting GoW4 if both were to release in the same year. Especially if the collection releases in January and 4 becomes a holiday release.
