Titanfall: The Official Thread v2.0

I got to skim through the TF strategy guide at my local walmart this weekend. Damn guide wants $24.99 for it...rip off in my opinion, should be $15 at most.

As I skimmed through it, didn't have time to go page by page, I was trying to find all the game modes defined but couldn't. I did manage to see the over views of all the maps with the CTF modes and that's going to be a lot of fun. There's going to be some crazy wall-running routes you can take as a flag carrier in CTF.

Can't wait!

The interwebz is enough guide for me.

Yeah those guides are a ripoff, plus they print them ahead of time so they might not even include changes made before release (already think there is a big launch patch). They obviously won't include any future updates or patches either. Not worth the paper.

We're supposed to get a winter storm now Tuesday night into Wednesday. A snow day would be well timed.

Has anyone downloaded a game and set their system into standby mode? Does the download keep going? According to most it should, but I never tested it. Want to start my TF download tomorrow morning then head off to work.

Microsoft would be wise to secure this as a Xbox exclusive, but i don't think it is going to happen. Respawn certainly doesn't want that.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Respawn lead engineer Richard Baker confirmed the game’s resolution. The team is targeting 900p with anti-aliasing or 1080p without. “We’re likely to increase the resolution after we ship,” Baker says.

Sooooooooon!

BTW, I'm pretty sure Titanfall 2 has been in development for at least a year now. This will probably be an annual title.

Respawn is a pretty small studio. Pre-production might have started, but quite sure the studio as a whole would be busy developing DLC materials until the end of the year.

Seems like once again the esram pool is too small.

I hope they don't sacrifice frame rate for the extra res in this game. Game is pretty fast paced and a solid frame rate is important.
I am sure, tehy will make sure the FPS is a smooth 60fps before releasing a higher res patch. This is good news if true, as it could means the SDK, may really help in pushing XBOX for higher performance.

True points. Gives me the feeling that perhaps another studio might be working on the sequel.

Wouldn't suprise me if on the 20th whilst talking about dx12 they say something like, thanks to directx12 Titanfall will be receiving a patch to bump the res to 1080p.
Personally I'm fine with 792p but any bump is more than welcome.

Just picked up the PC version for 49.99 on Greenmangaming!:)

code is : XXYB8X-LHFV73-66QFG8

But according to Respawn 1080p would mean no anti-aliasing, unless they can actually bring it to 1080p WITH FXAA.

It won't be. EA have said they want to rotate it with Battlefield and Battlefront, so that's a 3 year cycle.

It's basically replacing Medal of Honor.

Oh that's interesting. Makes sense. I know Battlefront had a large following, but they really need to reinvent it to "modernize" it.
