The official thread for one of the most anticipated shooters for the Xbox One.

THE FRONTIER
Welcome to the Edge of Civilization

In Titanfall, many generations of humanity live in the deepest reaches of explored space. This vast region is known as The Frontier. It contains many well-known and inhabited solar systems, but many more worlds remain uncharted.

Most people will never travel this far away from normal civilization. But for pioneers, explorers, mercenaries, outlaws, and soldiers - the Frontier offers both adventure and opportunity.

THE FACTIONS
The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC)

The IMC started out small, in natural resource extraction industries, under the name Hammond Engineering. Increasing demand for Titan manufacturing materials, combined with Hammond's market-cornering planetary survey technology and map database rights, contributed to explosive growth for the company. Over the course of a century, a series of acquisitions, mergers, and re-brandings lead to the transformation of Hammond Engineering into the ruthless commercial empire that is the IMC.

With the Frontier’s valuable shipping lanes and vast planetary resources ripe for exploitation, the IMC is dedicated to maximizing profits and shareholder wealth, using the legal application of force when necessary.

The Militia

The Frontier Militia represents the military arm of the Frontier systems' territorial defense pact. The Militia is a loosely governed mishmash of homesteaders, bandits, mercenaries, and pirates, all rising up as 'citizen soldiers' when the need arises. Each brigade within the Militia is responsible for fighting in an assigned section of Frontier territory. Although some brigades are little more than vast pirate organizations, the Militia has enough resources to be a real obstacle to the IMC's ambitions on the Frontier.

The Militia often claims that direct action against the IMC is in the best interest of the homesteaders whom they allegedly represent, but not everyone on the Frontier sees it that way.

THE COMBATANTS
Titans

Titans are descendants of present-day fledgling military exoskeletons. In addition to the obvious combat applications, unarmed forms of Titans are used in heavy industries like cargo transport and deep space ship salvage. They are also used in special applications such as deep space search and rescue, and are very effective in inhospitable environments. The use of Titans is widespread throughout the Frontier in both combat and civilian life.

Pilots

As with Titans, the Frontier contains Pilots of many different styles and experiences. Titan Pilots are rated by 'certifications', most of which apply to civilian applications, such as construction, shipping, and heavy salvage industries. The most prestigious of these is the Full Combat Certification - a widely published series of tests that grade a Titan Pilot's abilities. Because of the extreme physical and mental challenges of mastering both Titan combat & dismounted parkour movement, a fully combat certified Titan pilot is a rare find, and the combat skills of active Pilots in the field varies widely throughout the Frontier.

PREPARE FOR TITANFALL
Crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty and other key developers behind the Call of Duty franchise, Titanfall is among the most highly anticipated games of 2014, having been shrouded in mystery for nearly three years. The visionaries at Respawn have drawn inspiration from their proven experience in first-person action gaming, and are building on that pedigree by taking a new approach to game design and creating an all-new universe with Titanfall.

FAST-PACED ADVANCED COMBAT
The advanced combat techniques of Titanfall give you the freedom to fight your way as both elite assault Pilot and fast, heavily armored Titan.

"The Titan moves with speed and grace normally reserved for general infantry and handles like an extension of the Pilot himself, holding a weapon in a first-person view." - Game Informer

THE FUTURE OF ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
Introducing the experience that combines fast-paced multiplayer action with the dramatically charged moments of a cinematic universe.

"A next-generation competitive multiplayer title that blurs the lines between traditional online shooters and single-player campaign." - Game Informer

“A BRAVE NEW VISION OF THE FUTURE OF MULTIPLAYER GAMES.”- GAME INFORMER

This game is one of the few games I'll be gladly to pay $60 on day one. No doubt about it.

Day one, I'm there. This is my most anticipated game for next gen so far next to Quantum Break.

Same, by far the must buys for me for next year (hoping QB is a 2014 release), I am considering dropping my destiny pre-order depending on what comes out around that time.

Between this and DR3 are my most anticipated XBO titles. Going to have one match just running and jumping off walls.

Nooo, don't drop Destiny! Do get both! In my opinion, Destiny sounds too awesome to miss/pass by Bungie team.

I was really amped for it and pre-ordered it as soon as they went up, just what I have seen lately isn't as stunning as I was hoping for...but there is still a long time until it comes out.

I'll definitely get both. It appears that they'll each fill different "needs" as far as gaming goes, Titanfall being more of a fast-paced, hectic, and epic multiplayer experience, while Destiny will be more about exploration, community, and overall player progression.

TitanFall looks really fun for MP and might I say even a bit....unique overall? When does that ever happen anymore in a FPS type game?

Hope it's really as good as it's looking :D

It had to be one of the most overheard questions during PAX Prime 2013. Whether it was on the show floor or on Twitter and Facebook, seemingly everyone wanted to know if their friends had experienced the highly-anticipated first-person shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts.

Did it merit its record-breaking six Game Critics awards at E3? Did it deserve the “Best Next Generation Console Game” award at gamescom, or the glowing praise from the industry’s most prominent critics, including IGN, Destructoid, the Verge, the Penny Arcade Report and many more?

When is it set for release anyways? Spring?
Yeah.

As for Titanfall itself, looking forward to this game. I'm typically not into sci-fi shooters, but this one looks great. Smooth 60 fps helps a lot. Hard to imagine playing a fast paced game like this if it was 30 fps or less.

Sweet. Yeah I'm looking forward to the wall running and super fast game play. I hope it becomes a great success and sells really well.

I think I've missed something with Titanfall which I'm hoping can be cleared up.

The game is multiplayer only (no single/story aspect).

What makes this game so good as all I've heard is good reviews, what specifically makes this game what everyone thinks it is?

Anybody feel like a poor quality gameplay upload of Titanfall? IGN has your back.

^ Looks so awesome. Whole new gameplay experience. Awesome when he ejects at the end and then lands on the top of that huge building. Really looks like a game in which every match will be different.

Titanfall is going to be amazing. It'll be the second coming of the Call of Duty phenomenon. Take note of all the people looking forward to it now. Fast forward 5 years from now and people will be hating because the franchise will be so popular.

So true.

I hope that the online only will not be short...Multiplayer versus will have good longevity...but a great number of mission or story like mode will be great...

you know what will be funny, i wont be surprise if this becomes Japan most wanted game because of the Mechs.

Remember the XBOX 360 game years ago it was a Gundam game online trying to look like. This tells you where Western developers are and the Japanese developers. Day and Night difference

I am pretty pumped for this game. Was sad to learn it's not a launch title but regardless it will be mine. Probably a second copy for my sons as well so we can play together on two consoles.

I wasn't to pumped for it, then I saw some HD vids from E3 and some of the other shows and it totally had me. Looks like its gonna be awesome, I'm psyched its all MP too. This game is gonna print money
