I would have loved to see Destiny type exotics, however that wouldn't make sense given the setting of the game.

Not entirely sure what "Destiny type exotics" actually means.

Destiny can afford to go a little more out-there in terms of looks, sure, but The Division high end weapons also have their own distinctive look. like this one...

I was reading the Gamespot review--gave an 8/10--and this paragraph made me laugh and facepalm.

==BEGIN QUOTE==
No matter how hard I worked to level up my character, though, I almost always felt slightly underpowered. Put simply, The Division is stingy when it comes to gear and XP. My backpack was never more than a third full, and I didn't see a "high-end" weapon until I'd essentially beaten the game. Even at max level, your stats may not be high enough to activate your weapons' built-in talents, which sort of epitomizes the game's draconian design. The Division still manages to feel plenty rewarding as you progress, but a slightly kinder XP system and an extra level of gear rarity would have gone a long way to alleviate the frustration and fatigue I experienced.
==END QUOTE==

Holy mother of f***, that might be the best recommendation for the game I could ever read. I played the beta briefly and enjoyed it, but didn't get a chance to dive in too much. I'm not looking to pick up anything more before QB releases next month, since I just got FM 2016 (Football Manager, not Forza) so I'm pretty much already tapped out. But that quote is making my wallet speak sweetly to me.

You know what I love most about this game? little changes can have a big impact.

I have been rolling with a light machine & mobile cover. My machine gun I set up with an extended mag that did only that. Earlier today I changed it up a little and went with a slightly reduced magazine but with increased fire rate. Then swapped mobile cover for the Pulse with extra damage. The result, a f***ing standard Elite killing machine.

Pop the pulse, pop out of cover, and let that light machine gun go to work on the head.

Is the pulse really that useful? I dumped it early on for other things.

I still use it with my health support station. I have the pulse with extra damage modifier.

I usually like to play the support role, plus this works well playing solo too.
