Uncharted 5 / Reboot

But 4 was a thief's end 🤔

So Nathan is continuing the journey as something else 😱

What if Cassie continues Nathan's legacy and Nathan continues Sully's 🤔
Sounds fine on the surface but Sony doesn't need 3 games where a parent and their child are the stars of the game either, TLOU, God of War and Uncharted it would all feel too formulaic IMO.

We also already switched from Father (figure) to "daughter" in TLOU2 I'd hate to see another lead gender swapped for no good reason. It would also come off even more like Tomb Raider if we played as another female treasure hunting. I'd rather they kept it with Drake either in his earlier years or just moved on to a different person. I'd say they should swap to Sam but I couldn't stand Troy Baker's performance in UC4 and I think the character of Sam was an annoyance overall.

If they do feel the need to do another gender swap I don't want to play as Drake's daughter, just go back to Chloe she was always cool and I liked her character a lot. They need to do something about that face though, she always looks strange lol and if she needs a partner they should get rid of Nadine and put in someone who keeps the fun doing, she was a wet blanket from what I remember.

Why can’t there be more positively inspirational murderous fathers? They are in the same universe though…

*Edit to add below

Yo! It just hit me, what if she’s (Ellie) a descendant of Cassie

True. Or even make a story where the daughter tries to follow the footsteps and gets into trouble. Nathan has to come out of retirement and save her 🤔

Or maybe close the door on it and make something else. Uncharted is not uncharted without Drake. Period. Like Tomb Taider without Lara Croft.

What if he takes on the role like that of sullys, a mentor?

But there is that Lost Legacy?

This is what, gonna be, the tenth game in the series?

Eh. Why? Just make something new. DRAKE is Uncharted. Lost legacy is something else. It shares characters and mechanics, but Uncharted is Drake's story. The whole mentor thing is boring now. They need to get the ol noodle rolling on some new s***. The story was closed nicely.

It's like, we get mentor Kratos, but one-hes immortal, and two- no one is going to play a game about Atreus. We care about Kratos and his journey. Aureus is fine in how he gives depth to Kratos. We Don't need that with Drake.

But this could be Sonys Star Wars….

But maybe this one could be kinda topical and be the origin story/source to the events of “the last of us”. Maybe Nathan is patient zero because he caught it and helped spread across the world with all his travels/adventures, no?

Honestly I forget what the Easter egg mentions in the og uncharted

A new report from Theleak.co suggests that the Uncharted Series has been greenlit for a reboot, but won't be developed by Naughty Dog.

According to The Leak, the series will be handed to an "unknown developer", but Naughty Dog is expected to initially assist the new team.

By Oct 2019, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End sold 15 million copies (in 4 years). In 2015, Naughty Dog lead game designer Robert Cogburn suggested in an interview with Kotaku that Uncharted 4 was likely the last in the series.

"These games are hard to make. Particularly with a character like Nathan Drake in a world that's fairly grounded, it's a challenge to consider how much more we can expand the universe while adhering to those sorts of rules.", Cogburn said.

"That's not to say the questions will be the same in games we make going forward, but as a studio we grow tired of answering those same types of questions in the same fiction. It's gonna be fun for us to really embark on new ideas and start fleshing those out [in a new series]."

The Leak has a generally good track record when it comes to reporting leaks across a number of industries and although Insider Gaming was unable to corroborate the report, we have heard rumblings of something to do with the Uncharted series in the past (but once again could not corroborate this report).

ND might be done with it but maybe another studio? 🤔

A new Sony ad designed to promote PS5 could be teasing Uncharted 5. via (VGC)

The new promo, titled ‘Live from PS5’, features a series of live-action news reports reenacting scenes from various PlayStation games including God of War, Horizon, Gran Turismo and more.

However, among all the clips from current and upcoming PS5 games, one live-action clip stands out as being unrecognisable.

It shows a young woman in a cave, with a flaming torch. In a separate brief clip, she can be seen blowing dust off an ancient artefact.

The clips are the only shots that aren’t immediately recognisable, suggesting they may be from an unannounced project.

In a blog article introducing the ad, Sony said: “This new spot hints at the breadth of extraordinary experiences taking place in the PS5 universe through the style of a live news channel. See if you can spot all the game references.”

Uncharted 4 (spoiler warning)

Spoiler: spoiler

It’s believed by some, therefore, that the next Uncharted game could have Cassie as the protagonist, continuing where her parents left off.

Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann claimed last week that the studio has ‘moved on’ from the Uncharted series, but that doesn’t rule out another studio taking on the IP.
Announcing that she’d joined Naughty Dog, Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty said it was special “to be building future teams for not only new titles but for the legacy of Uncharted”.

A job listing late last year also said that a new internal development team at Sony was co-developing a game with Naughty Dog based on “a beloved franchise”.

And last April, a recruiter at the studio seemingly hinted that Sony could be planning future Uncharted releases.

Maybe they’ll get the movie actors to voice the characters in game, maybe even use their likeness….like when they “updated” Spider-Man’s look in the game after the movie
