So, I know all of the bad press this game gets, but I am still intrigued. I watched several reviews and a lot of them stated that this is the closest game to Assassin's Creed II in the series. AC II is my favorite game in the series and the only one I finished.

I heard the free-run is better and the vistas are impressive. Also, that the game is a lot harder than previous iterations.

I really didn't like AC IV because of the ship segments. I know they're well-regarded, I just didn't care for them.

Each time I see a Unity commercial, I am like, "cool!" but then I remember all the crap this game gets and I don't know if I can spend the $60.00 on it if I know what's being said.

Hard to tell you, cuz I have tried 4 times to install this bitch and no luck.

For me it has been the best AC game since part 2. I loved both the story and setting. I played it on Xbox one and experienced very few bugs. In fact I just completed Dragon age and faced far more bugs from freezes, unable to switch characters, to fighting limbless. In the twenty hours I put into AC I saw a few instances of frame rate stutter and I fell through the map once.
I haven't played it since the patch but I plan on going back, I still have plenty of side quests, which are varied and fun in this.

I got a patch for the game yesterday too. 40gb patch. Saweeeeet. I think it added horse armor.

Come on people, Eric is asking for your opinions and impressions and if it worth the money currently asked. Help him out.

Bear in mind I have not played the game, but I have seen a lot of streams via twitch, and my impressions are...

Unity seems like a natural progressions from AC & AC 2. A lot of the core mechanics seem to have been enhanced to offer more freedom and be more dynamic. It lacks the big impact found in recent games Like Blackflag where they really bought in something new. Although, they do have co-op now which could be fun. A mission creator would have been nice for this new feature.

Visually it looks impressive, to me. Busy streets filled with NPC's. Buildings with great detail, especially for a game of this size. Beautiful vistas, and interiors that at times look great.

The hate the game receives seems to be mostly around poor performance, but this is supposed to be addressed in a patch.

I think somebody who loved AC 2 will likely find the game pleasing and fun. Is it worth $60, probably.

Played it for about half and hour and fell through the game world. Haven't gone to play it since. Once they fix it to be in a playable state I'll give it another go.

I think it's funny that MC:C is getting essentially a free pass for its lackluster performance but this game gets trashed. Every review I read said the bugs aren't horrible. They're present, but not game breaking like people make it seem. Thank you!

Yeah, the bugs I have seen have been more annoying than game breaking. Falling through the world(very rare), missing faces, geometry screw ups, broken animations, weird clipping, etc. You see some of them in a lot of games though.

As for Halo, I have seen it get some backlash, but yeah, Ubi seemed to get it far worse. Maybe a branding thing, or perhaps an image thing given Ubisoft's comments regarding parity and other things.

Most of the haters haven't even played it and hate AC in general. It is my GOTY. On the one my bugs were few and far between, great game.

I like it. My brother and his female friend really like it. The biggest issue is the unstable framerate. Still, it is a massive upgrade visually from Black Flag, and the setting is really cool. Climbing all over the interior as well as the exterior of Notre Damme is just, well.... damme cool!

900p/20.

But seriously, I think a patch recently rolled out that's supposed to fix some issues. Not sure if it did though.

Did you try playing it on your X1 or on your PS4? I heard the X1 version runs better, not sure after patches though.

If you like the series this is a step up. Bugs aren't as bad as the internet would have you believe.

Aint so bad

Worse thing is the framerate but I, like many, have not played in awhile. I'm a halo fanboy, sue me.

I started playing it a couple weeks back and couldn't handle the framerate in places, usually it was decent, but just bad dips. Started back tonight it seems much improved, everything does actually. I was in a scene earlier with at least 200 npcs and noticed zero dips.
