Both play much smoother now and it is a wash which is better.
Really enjoying the game. Easily one of the best games to come out on current gen consoles. I haven't played since the latest patch but if you enjoyed AC 2 go for it.
Last night it finally happened.....

I realized one reason that loading screens feel longer in this then past AC games, you don't have the character to make run while the animus sets up.
True story, I one time fell asleep while playing Paper Mario on N64. Excellent game but it was like 4 in the morning.
It depends on which platform you get it on. For the PC, it's a mesmerizing experience in artwork and graphical fidelity. Yes, the story is pretty intriguing and I consider it second to Brotherhood. I never finished Revelations, AC3 or AC4 because they were simply too boring. Yes, the combat is harder in a way but it's still a bit easy. I wish they would have given more time to the combat and made it a little more enjoyable. There seemed to be only 2 types of enemies.. ones that you can kill after 2 or 3 slashes and the others that take heavy attacks and a fair bit of dodging. It's still not up to par with a game like Ryse's combat (which I enjoy a lot) where you will have to carefully watch your enemies before attacking.
Game still has popin issues but with the recent patch, the performance is a lot better.
Overall, I'd say go for it. AC:Unity is clearly one of the best AC games since Brotherhood.

It's a great game with some flaws. If you're a fan of the franchise you'll look past those flaws and enjoy AC: Unity for what it is. A great game.
I got the game to finally install. I found out that the problem is that it was trying to install on both Xbox Ones that I have. Each time one Xbox One would start up, it would stop the other one from downloading and try to download on the other one. Back and forth, and we kept troubleshooting it. Finally, I said, let's leave one of the Xbox One's completely off, let the other download and install, then turn the other and do it. Worked.

Good to know - we just got a second Xbox One (the Unity edition) and I am planning on installing on both consoles.
I finally got around to starting it this weekend and it's pretty good. The city is just incredible. The amount of people and interaction is very impressive, plus you can now go inside of buildings. The combat has improved as well and feels like it has more weight behind it with the new parry system and different weapon sets. Shooting feels a little clunky though. The customization for the character is also great, with different clothes offering different bonuses. The story is very ho hum and the main character is entirely forgettable. I haven't played co op yet.
Overall is pretty solid. Only bad bug I'm seen is some terrible clipping but that was o ly once or twice so far.

Do the cafe missions asap and get mad cash every 20 min. It's a great way to buy high level gear.
Started on Ac Unity. Man, does it looks good. I did encounter 2 bugs in the game after an hour of play, once I manage to resolve, the other end up restart. Save system is shty. Why can't some games just bloody allow us to save & load where we left off! Loading is pretty horrible on PS4 as well.
can't comment much about gameplay, as I spend a lot of time to open boxes & get the ribbon (or whatever its called). Its frustrating that the blue boy required you to play the companion game (really Ubisoft), & I cannot open the gold (initiate box), some network error message popped up. As a completionist, I am a bit pissed.
I am not sure its due to me having no PS+.

I think my first 2 bugs came in the first little city too and other then that it's been smooth sailing, framerate is smooth but only a little bit of character pop in (there are huge amounts of on screen characters)
You get to open the gold chests the further you progress into the game, I am not sure what dictates it but i can pretty much open them all up now, I'm not fussed about chests anyway there's so many and you earn a crap ton of money by doing the aforementioned cafe missions as well as social club missions.
Such a great game I'm glad i didn't miss this out because of the negative publicity.
Most icons on any map ever. i just filter it to missions or items of interest and go from there, chests and collectibles are boring for me unless you are a completionist.

I haven't really warmed up to the gameplay, but the visuals are pretty stunning.
I am about 1.5 hours into the game, mostly opening cheast & collectable. When will the game start getting good.
Also, I had a hard time fighting the guys, 3 times I try to take on 3 guys, 3 times I got killed, & I am not a poor gamer. Not sure what I did wrong. 4th time I picked the chest nearby & ran away. Are there rewards for killing people, experience or something?

I hate the ship segments in Black Flag. I got the AC bundle but I hate Black Flag and haven't bothered with Unity. Who knows, maybe I'll actually enjoy Unity.
No ships in Unity, lol. Combat is MUCH more challenging, and stealth becomes a very viable option.
