the least impressive was the FJ40 remake. Toyota should have stuck with what worked. Love the old FJ40. the new (now out of production) was horribly designed and so butt ugly

If you had made this thread in 1993 a lot of the modern cars wouldn't even have echoed the past at all.
Like the Land Cruiser, Mustang, Charger...
Then again, the Jaguar would have looked more like the old one.

Some cars got really ugly in the interim. The 80s-era Mustang? Yish. I'm glad are some are calling their forebears for design cues. The McLarens don't look much different from each other, though. That was pretty crazy despite the twenty year difference.

My neighbor bought one of those new Corvette Stingrays and he drives that thing up and down the street showing it off, Gawd its bad ass.

That was one of the "quintessential" parts of a Vette, the circular tails. Who knows, it might grow on me.

You know I felt the same way when they changed from round to the squared shape (rounded edge squares) and didn't like new shape very much so I know where youre coming from.

Sorry but the oldies take the cake in every photo.
Just ooze class and with the muscle cars just outright aggression.

Love the old gt500's.

What you are missing from your list is a comparison between the Pontiac GTO (vintage muscle) and the new horrible GTO being made now. Seriously the new one is the ugliest poo poo I've ever seen. So sad. The old GTO's are things of beauty.

I know next to nothing about cars, but just by looks I disagree almost completely. In almost every case I'd take the newer one over the older one. The older ones just look... well.. old.

I feel you on that. It seems as if GM is going all transformerish on their newer sports cars.

You talking bout the Holden based "GTO" that was produced a few years back? I totally agree in the looks department, though the car is a blast to drive. A friend had one, long tubes, cam and a 150 shot of nitrous, the car was crazy fun.
