Yes with earned child tax credit Free money, Rent credit free money, Daycare credit free money. Need i go on. Oh yeah wife just graduated works at HR block so no fees to have taxes done.lol, wut?
Been trying to tell people this on TXB and related sites for a good decade.. I know you are just joking, but seriously, people DO NOT understand that they aren't getting paid free money.. it's their money they are getting returned to them.
The way people discuss their return/refund kinda drives me nuts. It's part of the American way I guess.. can't save money on their own, have to hand it over to the government and then blow it at the end of the year.
Not nothing but no where near 10gs. So yeah it is a good deal for me.Wow.. so you pay nothing and get 10 grand total in credit back?

Thanks when I go get my first new game with tax $ I'll think of youYeah in your case.. free money!
Haven't calculated everything yet (might not get that 10k back, I have some income I'm unsure on the taxes of) but last year I paid about $64,000 in federal income tax. And of course another $10k or so in SS/Medicaid...
That sucks, at least you make a lot of money through out the year though.I owe about $2k.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to ask. Maybe if we start a thread having people guess he will tell us.WTF do you do that you paid more in fed taxes than most americans earn a year?
I wanna know..............

With a salary like that I'd have to assume your code writing days are mostly over (meaning management), though I could be wrong, you do live in Seattle so wages are MUCH higher than what they are here.I write code, man.
Pro hacker confirmed. Are you the sewer rat that hacked TXB a couple of years ago?I write code, man.
He's like Neo from the Matrix.

Nope, outside of requirements gathering my time is spent coding/designing.
It's lucrative because it's high stress high risk work. Company I am contracted at has 10's of billions in revenue and has applications that are critical to production of their products, and sometimes are forced requirements by government regulators or they can face fines and delays.
I was brought in because of one such regulation finding; product was going to be delayed if an app wasn't created in less than 2 months to fulfill a need. PM knew my reputation and called me and hired me away from my old job a week later. That was 7 years ago, I now have coded and managed upgrades to 7 applications here that cross numerous business segments.
And no sharkboy1200 I wasn't responsible for that hack.
I did once discover a vulnerability in Vbulletin where I posted a link to a site I built, and it would change your avatar if you clicked it.
Changed a bunch of people's Avvy's to "owned by riotous." That was like a decade ago lol.. I reported the flaw to Vbulletin before the hack was discovered by more nefarious types.
Theoretically could have changed any profile value including registered email address and then done account restores.. But I didn't go there.
Ah, you're a contractor then. They are the ones making the big bucks, at least where I work. It's lucrative because it's high stress high risk work. Yeah we actually have a few of them at my work place too; contractors who have been around close to 10 years I think. They are of course the only devs making upwards of $150k.Yeah been on contract 7 years, a rarity.. Was supposed to be 6 months. They can't find a full time replacement for me and I keep bluffing their "go direct or get lost" motto... It's worked.
This might be the year it doesn't. I'll probably go somewhere else or find another contract.
