Pages taking a fairly long time to load.
Alerts are taking minutes to show up, if they show up at all.
Posts do not instantly take and require a manual refresh for them show.

The first and last issue have happened on occasion for a good while, but recently it is getting more and more common.

My internet is fine, good ping, correct speeds. All other sites are working perfectly.

Sending out the bat-signal to @Plainview .

I've been having some trouble lately as well. I blamed it on the E3 traffic.

Today it's been running very slowly. For E3 I pumped the server up big time so it wouldn't hiccup. It really didn't. Today there's an anomoly. I'm working with host to get everything back to normal.

Cool. Hopefully this will fix it full-stop. Like I said, a couple of those issues were happening long before E3. Just not as frequently.

If you have 75+ people accessing the database at the same time it will hiccup. There's no real way around that other than going to full dedicated servers.

Ah, ok. Just knowing that makes me feel a little better :)

Forums are different than a regular website. Every single click accesses the database. So you have 15 people clicking on the Xbox forum. A bunch of people refreshing. A bunch posting replies. A bunch liking posts. The all access the database at the same exact time. When someone views a thread it has to access the database to see what was the last post they looked at, loads all of the posts for the page, all the likes are calculated, etc. That happens every second on the site. It's crazy how it all runs. I'm astounded at how involved it is.

It was quite sluggish earlier this morning. It is really an "off and on" thing. There are times it's zippy, but other times it's slow as molasses. I'll end up opening another tab and reading another site while I wait for Union to load.

actually I get blank pages, have to do a refresh to load it
but off to play murder suspect.. I highly recommend the game

This morning was horrible for me. It's better now though.

Damn Plainview, did you build the whole site yourself? If so that's impressive work. It really seems full of features.

The forums are bought. The styles are bought but then I have to mod them to make them how I want them to be. There are some add-ons as well but almost everything has a good deal of modding to it. It's not overly difficult.

I still experience the double posting. Like when I click post, the page doesn't load to show my post. So then I click post again and then it shows this time but with double posting.

Clear your cache in your browser. Double posts may happen from time to time if you don't wait for it to post. Sometimes the progress graphic in the corner will disappear but the post has been made.

My post usually doesn't show up either, but I get a message that I must wait a certain amount of time before posts instead of double posts showing up.

I'm working with the host to see where I can speed things up more. Bear with me with everything. I'm always tweaking and working on stuff to get the best possible performance for the boards.

I don't think the performance is all that bad honestly. It's not like this is a site where you're going from page to page within seconds of each other. Click on a link, wait ~5 seconds, read for 2-5 minutes, click on next link, repeat.

Dayum, I thought we lost the ol' girl for a minute there.
