What movies have you seen recently?

Watched "This Is The End"

Wowwww! I was not expecting it to be that freakin' funny! I thought I would like it, but it was wayyyyyyyyy better than I could have imagined. Absolutely hilarious! I will need to watch this one a few more times. A couple sequences in the movie that had me having trouble catching a breath I was laughing so hard (James Franco/Danny McBride argument over McBride doing something in the porn mag hahahahahah! epic!)

Anyway, yeah I consider this movie a modern comedic masterpiece. Well done!

I thought the acting was wooden. Even Shannon. Just bad all around. It's the worst super hero movie to date, and by a long shot too. I just hated it, shame really because I thought the trailers were amazing.

Watched Rope(194:cool:: 4/5

This movie is hilariously sarcastic. It almost feels like a Hitchcock directed Seinfeld episode.

Saw Polar Express. Never got to see it until now. I can see why my son LOVED this movie. He kept asking me to play Polar Express on Netflix. I thought "Why not? I'm gonna watch it anyway" and I'm glad I did. Pretty good movie.

Brick. I wasn't expecting this odd, high school noir story.

God stuff 4/5.

What does anyone think of The Wolverine? I really, really enjoyed the movie thus far. I personal think it is much better than previous movie (story-wise and plenty of actions on screen). I love the fact that Wolverine is in Japan (I'm a heavy-Comic-book-reader of Wolverine series).

I felt it was boring. I needed him to be kicking ass all the time and what I felt I got was a soap opera, nothing but "gab, gab, gab" for 90% of the film. I don't want Wolverine to talk, I want him to f*** s*** up!

Turbo - 6/10 decent family film.

Pacific Rim - 7/10 i liked it for what it is, but could have done with less bad acting humans and more monster vs robojoxs.

Bad Grandpa - 4/10

Thought this was pretty poor. Except for two parts ( both in trailer) I never laughed.

Watched kick-ass 2: man what a disappointment. Had none of the heart or ambition that made the first one likeable.

The second is a big improvement over the first, but it is still mediocre IMO. Wish Darren Aronofsky did actually direct it...could have been awesome.

Yep. The big issue I had was them effectively making Hitgirl worthless for 90% of the movie. She was the best thing about the first ( along with Big Daddy). Really have no clue how they went in that direction.

Man of Steel BD.

Still enjoy it a lot and that Superman/Zod fight is how the final Neo/Smith fight should have been.

what really? I do remember seeing the final Neo Smith fight and thinking this is how a superman fight should be in a movie. Happy man of steel topped that big time.

Yea I can't say I liked the way the director treated any of the characters, but Hitgirl was just about useless. Probably to make room for the forced romance between KA and Night B

Really? I automatically thought it would stink. I love Brolin though.

yeah no s*** it was pretty good. I was also pretty shocked on how much I enjoyed it. 2nd one was god awful they really did well by the first one with the 3rd movie.

Watching Pacific Rim 3D right now, pretty good.

damn right say that bad boy in Imax 3-d that s*** was epic like a damn thrill ride. I just saw the imax and took my wife lets stop in there take a look as we were in the area for something else. we had a free ticket from points thank god as a ticket is 20 each so I said hell lets try it I've not been to an imax in years.

Like I said that s*** was epic imax 3-d is the way to see Pacific Rim.

it had some pacing issues got boring in the middle the ending just f***ing killed the movie. Up to that point it was a good login story then it turned into Wolverine the superhero story at the end. The big ass ninja fight should have been much longer and the last fight and none of this superhero BS should have been in the film.

Its a shame they did not make the movie it was meant to be in the beginning.

The Matrix dual for me was too repetitive and lacked the impact of power that the Superman v Zod dual has. The whole flying combat in the Matrix was poorly done. Where as in Superman it is pretty well done. Basically Superman V Zod was executed far better than that of Neo v Smith.

oh yes no doubt the man of steel fights were epicness. Up to that point however all we had was s***ty superman returns with no fights. So that Matrix fight was the closest of how I'd wanted to see a superman fight on screen. I do have to say Superman 2 from the older movies had a good fight with zod and his gang.

I actually rewatched the final Neo/Smith fight and had no qualms with it. Thought it was pretty awesome personally. I'd have to rewatch both, but man, I loved that final fight in Revolution.

3/5
if it were rated for the cinematography alone it would get a perfect score.
I saw the english dubbed version offered on netflix which was more of a distraction than i think a subtitled one would be. thus the lower rating
although Chi Young Fat(sp?) is always a pleasure to watch.
