What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

Finished the 3rd season of Picard (loved it) and am now watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and I'm really enjoying it as well, already a couple of episodes into the second season.

Just finished episode 1 of 4 of the Bon Jovi docuseries Thank you, Goodnight. Love it so far!

I watched the first season of Dark on Netflix (English dub). It is a series about time travel taking place and a small wooded German town that spans 100+ years. From what I read the creators were big Lost fans and it shows. This series is excellent, one of the best mystery series since Lost I’ve seen. You need a family tree to keep up with all the characters across many decades lol, I’ve missed this kind of television. Only 3 seasons and I’ve read the ending is great. Going to finish ASAP I’m hooked! Just wish the English dub was better, but its serviceable.

You're in for a ride dude. One of my favorite series. Ending is definitely satisfying.

Both are great shows. I recommend Lower Decks as well if you're a Trekkie.

Started watching Shogun. Feels like it's going to be a really big show. I do wonder if Japan was so heavily influenced by Christians back then though - I understood Japan to largely reject Christianity when outsiders tried to proselytize them (i.e., Silence (2016 film)).

I've gone through ups and downs with Star Trek lol I've never watched more than one or two episodes of TNG, I've seen a couple of their movies though. I watched the reruns of the original series as a kid and loved it at the time, never watched DS9, I watched Voyager from Episode 1 through the finale without missing a single episode, I've seen most of the newer movies and watched one or two seasons of Discovery and all of Picard.

Strange New Worlds is one of my favorite Trek series so far, I think the lead actors really work well in both their performances and how they are written. It's not an action heavy show but the effects do look great as they did in Picard. These shows have movie quality effects, it's crazy how good they look.

Ripley (Netflix) - Beautiful. I highly recommend it.
Ok, let me do this one then.

I'm out of stuff right now. A Gentleman In Moscow is fantastic, but can't binge.

Shogun was incredible.

Not sure what else I've watched recently. But I was spoiled for a bit there with stuff to watch, now I'm searching for stuff.........

Let's give Ripley a go. Thanks for the heads up!

My wife and I finished first season of Yellowjackets. I’m really digging this series. Has an early Lost feel in a lot of ways. We’re hooked. You can watch it on Paramount+.

I gotta thank you again.

Ripley is incredible. I'm onto episode 5.

Just amazing in every way.

The main actors, familiar. Couldn't figure it out.

Ahhhh, ok Ripley was in Fleabag, and the other guy was in that show that they changed the name at some point. Both British shows that I really liked.

It surprised me how good it was and different than Talented Mr. Ripley movie. I've never read the book, so not sure which was closer than the other, but glad I didn't in this case.

The cinematography is simply amazing. Every shot could hang on a wall.

Everything is amazing. The sound, just the whole thing.

Apparently this is the first actual adaptation of the novel. That is what I read. So I guess The Talented Mr Ripley must be a bit off as far as adaptation.

Let me look it up: the eight-episode limited series is the first adaptation of Highsmith's novel to a series.

Ok, so first to be made into a series. The other is a movie.

I just also love the old Italian black and white vibe of it too. Again thanks for the recommendation.

Edit a day later: Holy s*** what a series! Caravaggio!

Beef - Good. All that from a mild bit of road rage. Insane.

Clarkson's Farm seaon 3 - Good.

Big Bang Theory seasons 2 to 6 - Hilarious. "I've seen pictures of your mom. Keep eating."

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer

I'm oddly a sucker for some of these RPG inspired shows. I mean, some of them are entertaining.

This low rank guy messed up in the first episode and got killed in a dungeon, but for some reason he came back as a standard undead skeleton. He wants to continue his dream of being a hero adventurer even though he's a dungeon monster.

Finished The Americans. Sad that it's over. Great series.

Also finished Jury Duty, pretty funny. The dude was the nicest guy ever.

Starting Fallout.

X-Men 97 finale: MARVELOUS

Season 1 of X-Men 97 ended in incredible fashion. Funny to think back before the show launched how wary and uncertain folks were about the show. It has surpassed the original series with its phenomenal writing and animation.
