What you'll need to run GTA V at 4K 30fps, and 1080p 60fps.

Are you running 8xMSAA? I have everything maxed out at 2560x1440 on my 780 Ti and It runs pretty well 50-55fps.

"High resolution shadows" take a huge toll on video ram and 8xMSAA both enable,I'm running everything on max correct

What would be a good card to run this game at 1440p or 4k with high settings. 30 fps is fine for me since my 4k tv doesn't have the best refresh rate anyway.

I want at least a 4GB card for around $300.

I wonder how well 290x cf will work. Never see it in any benchmarks.

I was initially horrified at how bad my 2G 770 ran, so horrified I was determined to go buy a 980 because honestly, the credit sequence for this game was kind of breathtaking on the PC, even with stuff turned down for my system.

The problem was tearing, which I took to mean the performance was really bad, but it was just a broken vsync. Vsync doesn't work in any of my games for some reason, either in game or via the nvidia control panel. BUT I discovered windowed mode + "borderless gaming" and now I get vsync automatically. I get a nice smooth 60fps with occasional stutters as the performance fluctuates. That is MUCH, MUCH more tolerable to me than tearing to try and maintain 60fps. FRAPS doesn't even really register below 60fps most of the time so I assume I get maybe 1-2 frame drops every once in awhile which produce almost imperceptible stutters. But those small dips below 60fps just tear like crazy without vsync.

So I only ordered a 970. :) Normal textures are kind of last gen looking.
