This new update went too far for me. Im under the impression that Bungie is trying to squeeze every little drop out of what little content they have. They have chosen to force people to change their play style to add longevity to the game, instead of adding content. Im not in the mood for a slightly steep learning curve this far in. I have paid my dues mastering certain weapons, only to see them turned to trash. Apparently Bungie feels I must learn to use weapon types that I dislike in order to be competitive. Sorry, not going to do it.

I guess the changes are felt in the Crucible because playing the Nightfall last night I really didn't feel a difference with the new weapon balancing. I need to play more though while using some other weapons like the fusion and pulse rifles.

I definitely felt the changes to fusion rifles, Murmur felt like garbage. Shotguns feel even more wonky to me now in PvE, needing to be in melee range to use them effectively. Seems like they'd only be useful in lower level things, you're just going to get yourself killed in things like Nightfalls with them.

Bad Juju seemed good in low level activities from what I used of it. Still not fit for high level activities like Nightfalls, though.

Haven't dared try auto rifles or hand cannons yet, as I'm worried they'll bum me out too much.

Soda Jack what are the biggest changes with the latest update?
ARs, and FRs are now the worst weapons in the Crucible. And to a lesser extent HC got a bite taken out of them as well. It is all about shotguns, and PR now.

I pondered as to why Bungie did this. My first question was why not simply make these unpopular weapons more powerful without nerfing the popular weapons? The only conclusion that I could come up with is that Bungie does not want people to use these popular weapon types now. It doesn't make sense to ruin the most popular tools of your user base.

Bungie's prolly hoping with the nerf that people will go start grinding it out for PR' and other weapons they never bothered with before.

The update isn't too bad. Handcannons were a bit OP. Haven't used an AR in crucible yet though so can't comment on that. I never used fusion rifles because too many people used it before and they were OP.

So many tears...

The auto rifle nerf is intended to stop you from being competitive with a longer range sniper rifle. It was a very brief 2.5% damage reduction which is more drastic on high impact auto rifles and less drastic on high rate of fire auto rifles.

If you are bad at the game, just quit because of that - there are worse things about this game than their PVP balance changes. Much worse things to be tearful about.

Bungie nerfed the range of the auto rifle a long time ago. When the Suros Regime is now taking 3/3.5s to get a kill at medium range, while hand cannons and pulse rifles are taking 2/2.5s then the damage reduction has not balanced the gameplay. Your remark about quitting because you are bad at the game is also misplaced judgment. To pretend that these nerfs don't have an impact on a players success in the PvP is obviously wrong. My choice to stop playing Destiny was made out of principle. I am not re-learning how to kick ass in the PvP, just because Destiny is so short on content that Bungie is forcing players to use a weapon type they feel will add life to the game. 98% of PvP players did not use the pulse rifle pre-update. Again, this begs the question "Why do the popular weapon types have to be nerfed?". Why cant they simply make the pulse rifle as powerful as the other weapon types? Imo it is because Bungie is trying to force players to use the pulse rifle in an attempt to lengthen the life of the game. lol "tears". At least now you can sleep easy that you wont get your ass rocked in the Crucible by me and my nerfed weapon types.

Do I hear a challenge being declared? :O

@BOLD - I said, "If you are bad at the game." You should wipe your tears away so you can read more clearly. It was supposition, not declaration - I enjoy your attempts to calculate kill data. You know you should not just stand there shooting at whatever is shooting at you, correct? Head on - the Hand Cannon should always win if both people are accurate. Impact is king. Strafe, jump, slide, and flank. I personally always use Scout Rifles; except on my Titan, where I usually prefer to punch everything in the face.

@ITALIC - I don't play on Xbox so there is no way that you have crushed me. After observing your stats in Destiny PVP, I do not think it is possible for you to dominate me either.

This has been fun. As I said before, there is much more wrong with this game than Bungie's terrible balancing choices. As you said, they should have just brought the Pulse Rifles up because everything seemed pretty "even" in terms of weapon viability outside of the Pulse Rifle. Tragically Bungie's inability to maintain game balance is leaking in Destiny. At least this game hasn't turned into DMRalo. Halo Reach was so disappointing in that regard.

I like how you dismiss it without any evidence to the contrary. Kind of like thinking you won a debate because you said "F*** you". lol

My Crucible stats don't calculate a couple important variables. First, I only play the PvP to complete bounties. My most successful play style, and weapon choices are altered to finish bounties as quickly as possible. Secondly, my time in the Crucible is spent solo. Being in a fireteam is an advantage, the larger the better the advantage. Even Bungie admits to this. You make no mention if there are any variables such as these that could effect your PvP stats. I do notice that we have the same High Skill.

To add some perspective, my most popular weapons are still my exotic hand cannons although the red death and bad juju are now in my inventory too. Doing well in the crucible is still mostly based on skill. The suros needed a little nerf because I think that it was a bit too OP.

I haven't played it for a couple of weeks and surprisingly I'm just fine...

I give up :smash:, I cant quit. I swear to God its a freakin gambling addiction. This game has been a daily ritual to me for too long. I tried playing other games, and I made it for 3 days I think. Earlier today I thought, well Ill do this weeks Nightfall. It has been about 5-6hrs since I had that thought. Ive done the Nightfall & Weekly 3 times, ran the CE raid on Normal 3 times, and now Im about to double up on todays bounties. On the bright side Im not spending 100s of dollars a day on this addiction.

one of us, One of Us, ONE OF US!!!

Red Death is suddenly so good in the Crucible. ;)

Yeah, I've noticed. When Xur sold Red Death about two weeks ago, I bought it and started using it in PvP. I have to admit that I actually like it now. In fact, I love it! Before I got Red Death, I've always used auto-rifle guns because I thought it was easy to use and kill other player faster. Red Death has changed my mind completely and have not touch Auto riles for a long time. Red Death is one of my favorite gun so far!

So a friend of mine came back from Destiny after a month of not playing...Playing the Nightfall, got a Gally as a reward.

Lucky dawg. I've been huntin' G-Horn for a long time. Still no luck. Dear RNG, why?! *sob*
