Who else bought a bunch of great games but no time to play em?

I mean, I still have games from LAST BLACK FRIDAY that I bought on the cheap, and they are STILL shrinkwrapped.

It's not like I don't have free time. I'm freaking writing on a game message board as...I type this.

I now have Battlefront, Black Ops 3, AC Syndicate, Rainbow Six, Halo 5 (multiplayer), Fallout 4, Tomb Raider 2, that are still shrinkwrapped or largely unplayed.

I REALLY want to play these games, and yet I can't seem to just sit down and play em. Maybe today...

Fortunately, they will not explode in your collection.

Don't stress and call it a backlog.

Think of yourself as a lucky bastard with access to some of the best games of the year.

You totally messed up if you bought them at launch and haven't played them yet, though, you could have saved loads of money by buying them later.

I did the same thing even though I had promised myself I wouldn't have a backlog this generation. It's all inexpensive to be honest and at some point I will get round to these games.

I'm in the same boat. I bought:

Thief
Witcher 3
Dishonored
Gears Ultimate
Goat Simulator
Geometry Wars 3
Metro 2033

On top of already having Star Wars Bf, Halo, Destiny, Forza which already eat a ton of my time.

I want to buy Fallout 4, but honestly when am I going to play it?

I still have a couple games I got at launch that I haven't opened. I'd say I easily have over 20 games in my backlog I want to play. Over 35 if you include games I don't plan on playing.

I used to buy every game I wanted at launch and never get round to playing them until months later. By the time I actually loaded them up or installed them to play, I could have picked them up for half the price or less.

I stopped that when I realised what a stupendous waste of money it was.

Now I pick up games on the cheap a few months later. I miss the zeitgeist and early discussion around a game, but I would miss that anyway if I owned it at launch and never played it.

Except Pro Evo each year, but that gets played day one.

I'm trying to start doing this too. It's a lot harder than it sounds.

The biggest motivator for me was adding up the total from the prices I paid for the games then I added up how much it would cost to buy them now.

Then I went, "Fuuuuuuuuck!"

I understand why people pick stuff up when it comes out, they don't mean to have it sit there for weeks or months in the shrink wrap. There is also a certain excitement, satisfaction and thrill in the purchase but it's only short term feeling.

My new vice is now buying up really cheap games in digital sales. There is this next week...

I buy a huge amount of games. Especially if I see a good deal on something. To be honest most I probably don't even finish most. Still havnt finished Alien Isolation or DragonAge for example. Other games I finish multiple times like Dark Souls or Halo. At the moment I'm juggling FIFA, Divinity Original Sin, Ark Survival Evolved and Elder Scrolls Online.

I am too smart for this. I know I do not have that much time, so I do not buy loads of games at once. You lot use the "cheap" excuse, but I bet I get mine cheaper when I get round to buying them than I would have if I bought them in recent sales.

I've downloaded all free games but haven't touched them bar a couple. Don't get time too or just going through a phase where I don't want to play anything.

Nobody in this thread is allowed to buy another game until they have played the games they own. New rule.

If you don't want to play them, sell them. If you bought them digitally then, err, um, hmm, yeah.

Think of all the money you will save in 2016... and 2017... and possibly even 2018 depending on how severe your addiction is.

Could you do it?

I like buying games at full price so everyone can see how rich and successful I am. Be jealous.

I've been doing my best to not buy games anymore unless i'm going to play them right away. So much wasted money. By the time i'm ready to play them i could have bought them super cheap. With that said, i have a backlog that spans multiple generations. I'll get to them one day.

My current backlog with over 500+ games (all sealed) that I have yet to play. I have been selling some of them on eBay/Amazon so I can use it toward steam games/xmas present lol.

for some reasons a brand new copy of dirt 3 is going for a bit a money. I only paid $5 for it 2 years ago at Big Lots.

Nope. I make sure I am done with one before get a new one, no matter the discount.

I've slowed down considerably over the past few years. With Steam sales and such, I have a small back log. I tend to wait longer in purchasing new games, because I like to finish what I started. I have Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 to wrap up before moving on.

I'm trying. I've already got gift card money and games I want to buy. I'm trying to resist. I know the games I want now will be much cheaper by the time I actually get time to dedicate to them.

I ha e some backlogs my problem is some of the games I bought just don't excite me as much as I thought they would while older games like witcher 3 and especially bloodborne pull me back even though I beat them

What's in the other box? All those Laker jerseys?

Just kidding.

The games that don't excite you, trade or sell.

Keep enjoying Witcher 3 and Bloodborne with some extra cash in your pocket.

Booyah!

I'm having the same problem. My wife got me FO4 and I bought Witcher 3...I just don't have the time or motivation to play them. When I do play its a quick game of rocket league or killing floor 2. Having a child changes a lot of that too though.

The answer is simple. Eliminate what is interfering with your passion! Angelina Jolie is always buying kids. Maybe email her?

I've got Xbox money taunting me right now. Want to buy Fallout, but no point when I have zero time for it right now.

Have a lot of games, hmmm question is where to start.
Have yet to play Assassins creed Unity, Syndicate, then got Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and a lot of other games, and if I takes a look on my steam library ...........
