Will it be a smart move to buy a Wii U right now?

I've been thinking about buying a Wii U, and I was wondering do you guys think it would be a smart move to buy one at this time? do u think Nintendo will soon drop the Wii U?

Drop as in drop price or quit supporting it? I'd say hold off until after the holidays to see if they have a price drop or decent sale somewhere. As for quitting support for it, I doubt it.

If you want one just buy it. You know the score, the longer you wait, the cheaper it'll get. There are still good games to play on it. Even more so if you played little to now games from the previous Wii.

I'd say just wait for the price drop. I think the PS4's and Xbox One's recent traction will motivate them so.

They just dropped the price by $50 doubt there will be another one till next fall.

we will see about the doa part

It was weird this Black Friday, no one was looking for a U I mean no one. Since the Wii came out they sold well every year but this year the only Nintendo that was selling to was the 3DS. Nintendo always shoots themselves in the foot. SNES great, N64 flop, Wii great, WiiU flop so far.

Well its still 1st place outa the next gen consoles in overall sales :p
I wanna see 2 things...
1. The total life time Wii U sales after Christmas.
2. What Nintendo announces @ E3.

If they strike out on BOTH the future could be grim.

I don't think Wii U is going to be a success sales wise. It will be another Gamecube for Nintendo, it won't have high sales but they will make money regardless and have a nice library of games.

Well for me that be a win as my top 3 Nintendo formats are...

NES
SNES
GC

They will keep supporting it. Prices always go down over time.

I've said this a few times on this forum....I bought my daughter a wii u for christmas and I can't wait until she opens it.

There are great games on it right now; that is for certain. A price drop is coming, but no one knows when. I'd say as long as money isn't too big of an issue go with the certainty and get it to enjoy the great games.

I thought I saw a few good bundles recently, that's the way to go. I wouldn't expect a price drop until next fall at the earliest. But who knows...

There's definitely enough solid titles to justify a purchase finally. Pikmin 3 is awesome, 3dworld, nsmbu, zombiu which I love but reviews were terrible, Wonderful 101 I still need, WWHD is basically the best game ever. Then some great ones coming.

Oh, and seriously, they're not going to just drop support. If you want big 3rd party games look elsewhere though.

I don't know, maybe this is just hindsight talking, but GC seemed far more successful. Not trying to diss the Wii U, but I think this could be their second least selling major console, second only to the Virtual Boy.

Well GC only sold what 25 Mil? Only time will tell if Wii U does that badly, its definitely possible.

Wii U may do as well as GC(and possibly worse)but Nintendo will still have amazing exclusives to play.

There are more reasons to buy a Wii U than a PS4/X1 at the moment.
Those consoles have if higher prices, weaker libraries and more hardware problems. Not to say that won't change, but there's not much reason to buy a console at launch, aside from having the newest gadget.
