I really hope it works. I recently became a dad and it will be amazing if I can say xbox on" as I carry a screaming baby at 430 am into the nursery to change him. Then sit down and "go to tv channel" while feeding our 4 week old, instead of trying to hold the bottle, use the tv remote, and hold the baby at the same time. Xbox One will be a god send.

Definitely, really looking forward to this!! Hope it works as smooth as they showed in the demo!

Probably not, at least not much. I don't connect my console to my "main" TV, but one in my office. I will certainly try it out though, but my console room is pretty much just for gaming.

OMG, yes. Doubly so. Resolution will be less important to me, because I know how I am and I will have something perpetually snapped to the side of the screen.

Looking forward to new Apps in 2014.

Now that I read surround sound won't be working at launch it makes no sense for me to use it personally. I was going to put the Xbox One downstairs as I'm the only one who watches satellite down there (the Mrs in our bedroom most of the time) and it seemed like the obvious choice but now it's going with the rest of the consoles in the games room/man cave/spare room.

It's a s*** move from Microsoft if you ask me.

I just got a new TV that has voice support so I don't need to use kinect. Probably test it out but not needed for me. Won't be using snap either because IMO it seems pointless.

Without a doubt. One of the first things I'll be testing out.

hell yeah!

Yes. Will use it for sure, although will have to use my Xfinity remote a lot because we watch a lot of DVR stuff.

But it'll just be nice to be able to SNAP and switch and whatnot.

It will be interesting to see if when the X1 Xfinity app ships if it makes use of the IR blaster to control your DVR.

Yeah I'm curious how far they'll take their app next gen.

They don't need IR blasting to do that though.. just via the internet the Xfinity app for phones can start things from On Demand and whatnot, to a particular TV in your house.. but they don't currently list your DVR content.

I imagine that's eventually coming.

I'm not a TV-person, however I often use Netflix and, from time to time, Hulu-Plus if I miss the shows (currently Arrow/S.H.I.E.L.D.). The rest of my other time with TV is all about gaming. However, Xbox One may change me if I like what I see in the future. Only time will tell.

I was really excited for this feature, being able to watch football while I game would be nice but unless I heard wrong if u have your cable hooked up to your Xbox you always need your Xbox on and can only control your tv that way, if that's the case I am not ok with that. How would DVR functions work then on the cable box? I don't want my Xbox on when I am just watching tv.

I'll end up using everything but the TV. Maybe the Xbox One will convince me to give cable a try again but life has been fine without it. If I had cable, I'd use the TV features all the time.

I don't watch much live tv outside of sports but the ability to instantly switch between game and tv or snap tv to game, is a killer app for me (especially during sports). Currently, my 360 is my cable box (MCE) and it takes FOREVER to get from app to tv, tv to game, game to app. I do bounce around quite a bit between them (while typing this, I dumped out of MCE and into Netflix and may jump into a game after I watch a show). I also hope I can do bing search while in an app/game as well. Hated having to dump entirely out of what I was doing to look for something.

You can still use your cable/satellite remotes. In fact, you will need to in order to access your DVR listing, though you can still use voice to pause, rewind, skip forward or skip backward, etc if you wish.
