Those $600 and $700 bundles sold out as well (@gamestop/msstore), did you time those? I was wondering if they sold faster or slower.

I have no idea. I was lucky enough to buy a PS4 from amazon yesterday and noticed they also had Xbox ones as well.

Not to rain on the parade, but I will get excited only after 6 months, every unit is still sell out.

Amazon can't guarantee either console for Christmas here in the UK.

Arguing about how long it took something to sell out on Amazon when no matter what it took under a day is a new low. new low am confirmed. Thanks for setting the bar.

He actually have a point. For a supposely hot newly launch electronic (let alone a console which is a few years overdue) to sold out in 8 hours isn't really something to write home about. If it sold out within an hour, then its something to be excited about
However, it will be worrying if a new console cannot sell out when it launched only for only 2 weeks. Even Wii U, dreamcast sold fantastic in their launch period.
The only thing you can get from this is, the console have decent demand, & at the moment demand is more than supply. It will take a while before we see real popularity of the console, when all the hardcore gamers have got theirs if the demand is still so high.

So now people are downplaying selling out of stock because it was in 8 hours instead of less? Interesting. How many of you have a 400/500 dollar product that you are selling on the scale that Sony and MS are doing right now? If you do, like you wouldn't be ecstatic about selling through your stock in a day. Come on people, don't be so jaded, it is good news that both these consoles are selling so well regardless of the time period it is being done in.

It is the social degen nerd way. They see good news and will do everything in their power to curve it. And he was calling other people fanboys, LOL! His post confirmed all we need to know about him.

Having the affliction of being an old guy, it amazes me that we live in a time where you can go to a factory with specifications for a consumer electronics product, and they start producing them by the millions just a couple of month later.

Or that in just a couple of years a Jame Bond Villain with a James Bond Villain name has become the most capable space agency in the world.
Great user pic XboxNeo!!

It could have been a million reasons. I'll go with logical for #1 though. MS is keeping up with the demand as best they can. Also it is a $500 console competing against the XBOX360, PS3, PS4 and Wii U which are all priced lower. The fact it is most likely nearing 2 million units sold in about 2 weeks is pretty impressive, especially since all we heard from the get go is how it wouldn't sell for that price. MS seems to have gotten it right, at least from the start and of course the haters are pissed that their predictions so far have been destroyed.

Don't get it wrong, I wanted MS console to do well (as more consoles = better support from 3rd parties), & consoles in general for that matter (so I do not have to play games in future on mobile devices, design for schoolkids), but I will not start a party until a while later, when the fanfare of a new launch product died down, & my product is still consistently sell like hotcakes. Also haters (or not) did not predict MS console will not sell well at launch, but rather its long term sellability (not sure if this word exist).

So what did you gain with Nintendo?

I having a hard time keeping up with you guys. 1st I'm a Sony fanboy for ordering a PS4 rather than a Xbone, now I'm a Nintendo fanboy because I enjoy Nintendo games? Fact of the matter is tomorrow I will have a 360, Wii U, and PS4 hooked up through my receiver. You fanboys get to butthurt.

They're both mostly selling out of stock in NA and both doing very well. It's going to take a while for a longer term sales picture to emerge. Until then they're both doing fine in NA, even if one is "selling out faster".

Not sure whose predictions are being "destroyed" because the sales have reflected the metrics pretty well thus far. Maybe people on gaf who thought it was going to be a disaster, I dunno.

I tried going to GAF the other day and my anti virus blocked me from entering. It said, "THIS SITE HAS BEEN LABELED HARMFUL. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!"

I said, "Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn!" o_O

Gaf has some seriously ridiculous posters. Anyone predicting XB1 was going to flop was obviously wrong.

I think it's less about what you own, and more about how you talk about something you *don't* own.

You don't own an Xbox One, and you come into a thread about it's availability (which, mind you, this thread wasn't intended to be a "look! X1's are selling out fast!" thread... it was intended to be a beacon to let those who wanted an X1 have an opportunity to buy one, as long as they were still available)... and you seem to be trying to make it sound like selling out in a day isn't 'fast'.

It just rubs folk the wrong way, because it's kinda' pointless and it's also filled with supposition. If Amazon had 100kunits, taking 8 hours is quite fast. If they had 50 units, 8 hours isn't very fast... but in any case, it's great news for the fans, and great news for MS that they sold out everything they could build in a single day...why would you want to pretend that's not a great thing? What's your motivation?

...and it's when we ask those questions that you start getting labeled a fanboy/zealot/jerk because there isn't a good reason for a non-biased, rational person to come into a thread and act the way your are if there's no obvious bias.
