Phil Spencer’s promotion (he now reports directly to Satya) has been a fantastic move, and we’re really cranking everything into over-drive... so very busy.

Also of note, the debate between hardware superiority is now a completely won battle with Xbox One X on the market, so less to squabble over.

That said, if Naughty Dog drops another pre-rendered trailer and tries to pawn it off as real-time like they did with the UC4 unveiling, you better believe I’ll be here preaching truth to the zealots.

Hey gamers! 1080p/60fps! All in game engine with tons of effects!......

....... Ok, it was a cut scene clip after all.......

....... Ok, the new previews show visuals not as good as that first trailer.......

....... Ok, ND now says the actual game runs at 30fps.......

....... So 1080p/30fps with worse shadows, lighting and textures after all

I just feel if someone has an issue with another poster, the ignore/block is there for a reason...
 
Flynn works for MS, so of course he will be an MS cheerleader. Would you expect anything else? He has brought some details here to us before that was good to read.
 
being predominantly an XBOX site (sorry Plainview, "union" in name only), I think it's great that we have someone from MS here. Flynn obviously loves his job and loves the Xbox brand, and that carries over to being a fanboy like a lot of us. Big deal! What separates him from the rest of us is his insight, so I'm inclined to side with him over some of the anti-MS sentiments from the occasional salty dog hipsters on this site.

Hey Flynn, about that free Duke controller you promised me... :grin:

I don't know where he works and don't really care because what really separates him from you and me is that he is a troll.

Yup.

And thankfully, that's one thing game forums have eased off on.

Sony fans are so quick to harp on "OMG, PS4 1080p, Xbox 900p. LOL!". So where's all the Sony gamers now harping on it's better to have X than Pro? Never mind small gains, some of these differences are huge with 2x or more pixels, better visuals, steadier frame rate, and all the other features MS has churned out the last few years.

Nada. All zipped up.

DF still churns out the "Vs. articles", yet the chat is a lot more subdued. Even Xbox gamers don't really care so much. No doubt, an X game on a 4k tv looks better than the PS4 Pro version, but woop dee do.

The reason fan wars really started is when Sony fans turned it up a notch with "the cellz and BR 50 gig discs". System wasn't even out yet and everyone assumed year old 360 would be pooched. Wrong. So 360 gamers spat back. Then PS4 outdid One OG, and spat back. Now X is better than Pro games....... both sides not so much in "battle mode" anymore.

But I get a gut feeling when PS5 comes out and outdoes X, I'll bet anyone the fanwars will pick up again as PS5's better 4k or 8k or whatever smokes X. Just watch.

When you read forums way back during PS2 and Xbox OG, forums were a lot smaller, but you didn't get this kind of stuff. No doubt DF fanned the flames.

PS4 Pro 2,822,400 pixels
Xbox One X 8,294,400 pixels

Yup, around triple.

Pretty odd stuff.... ever since X released, all those DF articles that come out some reason don't translate into 20 page Neogaf (or Resetera) threads anymore.

It's like nobody reads DF comparison articles anymore.

My mind is a bit dark and twisted, but I did find it kinda funny that someone tried to capitalize on this, like that moment when Luke pulled his saber over kylo... it was inevitable.

But how long before this hits the media and pulled and MS will be given grief for letting this slip by.

Someone should tweet that at Spencer or Booty
