Please explain to me how this is meant to work, couldn't get through half of that pr nonsense.

You'll have software on your xbox/phone/tablet/pc that will connect to Xbox live and allow you to stream games in real-time to those devices.
You will never own hardcopy of those games but will be able to take them with you digitally onto your gaming devices.
You will probably be able to buy them digitally as you can now, but most likely get your games as part of a rental/subscription service.
But this will only work well if/when the majority have a fast broadband connection.
Playstation have PS Now that allows you to stream games already to PS4/pc. but as above, poor internet speeds will impact on how good it is. I have the service and use it often to stream PS4/3 and 2 games to my pc.
Well, it seems that MS announced this now because Google just announced their streaming platform in beta (I'm sure the plan was to announce at XO18 ). MS supposedly has "secret sauce" that will allow them to offer streaming on 10Mbps lines (was talk about local processing which would likely preclude use of TVs or Roku boxes for streaming). However, if that even works, it's likely at "lowest quality" which is not going to satisfy enthusiast gamers but will likely be good enough for casual folks or folks away from home. I mean I only really see this as an "add-on" for when I can't be at my console (either when I'm home and both TVs/consoles are in use or when I'm on the road). If it's a separate subscription, then it's a no go but if it's an added perk to GamePass (and it works reasonably well), I'll be happy.
The rumor is picking up steam again.

Good luck to Microsoft trying to compete with Google and any other giant that gets into the industry with cloud streaming. Not sure what their deal is but they canned VR support for the X to focus on this basically. Not the best strategy in my opinion but what do i know.

Well, think about it....streaming to "any" device has massive upside if you can do it right. Potentially every enthusiast/casual gamer with an existing smartphone/tablet/PC/laptop becomes a $10-20/mo cash register for your business. Console quality games on your phone for $10-20/mo (that also covers your console access if you have one to GamePass; presuming this is an add-on and not a separate sub) is pretty much a no brainer. With 5G coming out and Microsoft's secret sauce to lower the bandwidth requirements...seems like it could work. MP gaming/streaming may be a challenge though. If I can just stream Gamepass catalog, then it should be included in Gamepass sub. If this covers "new" games from 3rd party publishers, then it's going to cost more...prob. $20/mo or maybe more. My guess is that 3rd parties won't want new games on a sub/streaming service though....could be wrong.
VR is "cool" but it requires heavy investment in new hardware/software development for provider and hardware for consumer (on top of console). I don't want to go too far down the VR rabbit hole so I'll leave it at that

Yep, did you update your Xbox? Mines set to automatic but I still had to go in there and push it through to do so

I think so cos I didn’t see any of the ones I unlocked.... seems like it’s all new, but most everything has a sub level of customization that’s mostly just colour related
They usually stand on their own two feet, granted you can now have bionic limbs or a wheelchair.
Is there finally an option to make the avatar look fit, and not like some harmless weakling? Why aren't there more body-types... like one with shoulders?
Even the athletic type look ridiculous. I guess you can look somewhat athletic with unusually huge beautiful eyes and abnormal hands.
I dunno why MS bothers with Avatars honestly. You really don't see them and they seemed to get less and less visible last gen and into this gen. I did enjoy them in some of the games from last gen (joyride and a few others) but overall, kind of a wasted effort if you ask me.
They should have gone more fantastical, if you ask me. Go all the way, like, monsters, aliens, big hulking bodies to slim, animals, robots... like an avatar and not just some lose approximations of the user. Even Rare,s face capture or visual style from kinect sports 2...
Hopefully avatars will be thrown away with the next console.

If you get the chance, play the new halo game at Dave and Busters. It’s like Halo Raven or something. It was 4 person playing on 4 huge shared screens. It’s expensive if you want to continue through the story and a bit of a bullet sponge but it is so much fun to play with friends and family.
I know I might be in the minority on this, but AC Odyssey is just not doing it for me and the main reason is the combat. Not having a shield and just taking arrows from far away at every camp/base or the Mercenaries just all finding you while your fighting is crazy. Plus the perry system is very inconsistent.
That sounds like the new Middle Earth games. You are kicking butt yet arrowws are hitting you from every direction.lol
