Xbox One demo system shortages?

I think you may be right. If this is the case maybe that MS rep is there to assist with the Kinect aspects of the demo? They are touting it as Xbox Ones biggest feature.

Troll confirmed. Have a nice day.

They are demo'ing the XB1 at these stores at these times at these locations. Meaning they are being done with MS representatives there who oversee the demo. It's not just set up a TV and Xbox kiosk and let folks have a go.

So it has nothing to do with yields but there is something interesting here. What's so hard about sending out kiosks where people can just play some launch games at their big box retailer a few weeks before it comes out? Why this controlled environment?

IMO, you answered your own question, but may not know it.

It is a controlled environment. I dunno about you guys, but when the PS3/360 hit the stores for demo units, the general public beat the hell out of the controllers and demo stations. If MS is doing like this, again, in CA, then they can control the station and the flow of people into it. Ensuring the console/kinect work and show people what they can expect in their homes.

I LOL'd hard last gen at all the people trying to make Kinect out to be a joke because in a crapstastic store setup it didn't operate like it should. I got it home, and Kinect works perfectly, even Gen 1 of it. I think MS just wants to make sure that everyone gets to experience it on a level, and maintained environment.

(spoiler: the generational leap is unapparent at this time! They don't want too many people to play it prior to launch because it's underwhelming even more so than the jump from Xbox to 360 or PS2 to PS3)

When did you demo, from what I've seen the graphics have moved pretty substantially in the past few months (just look at the recent Ryse/Quantum Break trailers); I can't imagine seeing graphics like that on either current consoles.

I have owned every console with the exception of the Wii U also!!

See how easy it is to lie on the internet? Lol What you are trying to say? All I see is pathetic theory that formed sad conclusion.

It seems to be whenever someone says what they don't like to hear, "fanboy" gets thrown around.

No. It doesn't make you a fanboy, but it is speculation fueled by a very anti-Xbox sentiment running over at Neogaf, started by some random guy who speaks gibberish and has a cult following there, and has been firmly denied by nearly every Microsoft official. That's all.
isn't "anti-Xbox sentiment" the very meaning of fanboy?

this forum needs an up-vote and down-vote option for threads and posts.
i need to down-vote this thread and the OP's post's...

No worse than the anti-PlayStation sentiment here.
And we have our own individuals spewing speculations supported by gibberish that flies in the face of what everyone else is saying.
That is all.

MisterX? Fair enough. Nevertheless, it's all speculation that probably means nothing.

Seems to me this is an ant mound that many people see as Mt. Fuji.
I agree. Ive been around long enough to see every major console launch and I just found the whole revolving demo unit thing to be such an abnormality that I thought it was worth mentioning and spitballing a theory to it. The fact that people are so irritated by the idea and feel the need to counter with accusations and name calling is both childish and depressing.

All this waiting seems to have worn everyone a bit fine. Hardware shortages are par for the course when new consoles launch. Neither company is crowing about a super abundance.

I know my Gamestop is not going to get a xbox kiosk but is getting a PS4 kiosk. But they are pushing the PS4 big time at that store because the manager told me they didn't even Know if they were going to do a midnight release because the attachment rate for the xbox one was low do to everybody he talked to was going to digital download at launch and this p1ssed him off.

I know....it's a local gamestop story.....if you don't believe me I don't give a frick.

He's talking out of his booty hole. And as a company we are pushing anything that makes money. And since we are out of preorders on both systems and aren't taking money for either pushing anything seems silly. Well unless your local is full of Sony Fanboys. As for Kiosks, the district manager makes the call on who gets what. We were a bigger 360 store sales wise than the Triple and never had a 360 kiosk. Only Wii and Trips.
