Oh I see.I think it’s pretty clear now, as soon as they’re technically able to stream games with decent input lag, that’s the business plan. If we want to play the games at their best then you’ll need an Xbox or pretty decent PC.

I know you don’t. It’s all good.Have absolutely no idea why.
Oh! I see, the Xbox crowd is back on potentials.Well for me personally it’s the potential. Having almost all those studios now much better funded, hiring more people...and more studio acquisitions to come.
I’m always up for the new installments of established franchises across all systems, but the potential for something new and great is rising.
And that’s exciting, for me at least.
Oh! I see, the Xbox crowd is back on potentials.
Oh c’mon now....alright I’ll take the bait.
Do you really think, with all the money and resources pouring into these studios, the hiring sprees, etc....that we won’t get at least some good/great stuff out of it...?
With the spreading of the Xbox ecosystem, more people will be able to play a single game, and that’s good for everyone.
I’m not saying every game will be great, but I’ve been gaming since before the Atari 2600 (eff yeah I’m that old), and I’ve never seen this happen before.
If that doesn’t at least raise an eyebrow, what would do it for you, honestly? Besides the games that have already been announced....?
This thread is so nice..How did we get to ermahgerd Lolz services? HOW?
Bait? Lolz. You just said that exact thing.
f***ing games will do it for me. The days of the "but the potentials" has long past.
Good for every one? Lolz. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah! Microtransactions and live services, both of which are not. Lets not forget the shallow Sea of Theives either, a game built from the ground up for gamepass.
Thanks for this...you articulated it far better than I could.Great games don’t happen due to some magical powers of who’s publishing them. Takes developers and time...which takes money. They’re spending the money.
Oh please. Right now we have nothing. Yours is just another "but the potentials." Takes time, yep...so now it is about next next gen potentials. Awesome. How do you think games get made? It’s developers. More developers and time equate to better games. Don’t see how you can continue to put a negative spin on a money infusion into the gaming industry.
Past is past. Different structure, strategy and leadership now. Everything published up till now spent most of development with a much smaller budget. Rare has nearly tripled in size since a couple years ago. Undead will be more than double the size of the studio that did most of SoD2’s development. Ninja Theory’s Hellblade was built with a tiny team. They’re up to 140 developers. 343 has grown and hired better top end talent. Playground building a second studio.

I don't really buy into the idea that they hired more developers therefore the games will be great. If it was that simple there would probably be more great games.

Come back to me when these devs put out some quality new IPs.
Size doesn't equal quality games either.
How can I logically make a case against it? It is a significant factor, really...even though you just listed an example where it isn't.Size equals quality games? No, you can still have an Anthem situation. Is it a significant factor? Yes. How can you logically make the case against that?
Microsoft re-structured in late 2017 and that’s when they gave the gaming division autonomy and a big budget. Good games take a minimum of 3 years to start from scratch. So yeah...it takes time. If as a gamer you won’t be playing on the Xbox platform when these games hit...that’s your right. People who plan to be sticking with the platform long term have plenty to be excited about.
Another greatly underrated aspect is ability to get top tier talent. As someone who manages in tech, I can promise manpower matters but also experience and ability matters a lot. An experienced, talented person can do twice as much given the right tools. Microsoft’s hires lately have been high end talent. Their pay and benefits are near the top of the industry while their commitment from the top adds a layer of security for people in the business. Far cry from where they were when consolidating and cutting back devs. A small Indie developer is not going to get a lot of top tier talent compared to who they can hire with Microsoft at their back.

All these paragraphs are pointless. The end result is the same, you are hyping based on potential, nothing more.
I myself will wait and see what they actually create.
This has got to make any gamer a little excited, right..? It’s like an all-star team with practically unlimited resources.

People were going with that because their video said they wanted to be a smaller agile studio. They never said a work about going from AAA (as was announced) to Indie.People thought they were going to do indies? :/ With the people already in that studio that was def never going to be the case.

We have known this gen was a lost cause for exclusives for years. We know they will turn the corner in terms of quantity now we just have to wait a couple more years to see if they are turning it in terms of quality.
