What always gets me about these little nuggets of information is that how obvious some of it seems once you hear it, like the way the moon's gravity is gradually slowing down the Earth's spin.

I'm familiar with the cause of the tide generally but definitely more to this that I wasn't aware. With the moon slowly moving away from earth I suppose that will mess with the tides then.
