I think it may be the live members who came on during the OG Xbox, Since the people who's are correct are 2005/2008. I'm thinking they did a data migration when they moved to the 360 live and say they weren't keeping a year originally as a column by itself then did for the 360 instead of filling it in they may have let it default and we get 1900 or something like this scenario.

My gamertag is from the original Xbox and I'm showing as a member since 2003. Maybe it's only those who signed up in 2002 when it launched? I was there for the launch but don't still have that gamertag so I can't compare the two.
Wow, I'm showing 2728 hours on Xbox LIVE in 2015, which is like 7.5 hours a day! There's no way. As some of you mentioned, must be that just being logged in to LIVE counts toward the total. I tend to use the "xbox on" kinect feature everyday when I get home from work, out of habit and convenience, and then will walk away or watch tv, so the LIVE timer is always ticking.
I still don't get my count - 3172 hrs = 8.5 hrs/day, every day of the year! That is definitely more than my TV is even on.
Hmm, I'd check the closets to make sure you don't have someone hiding out and playing your xbox when your not around.
I'll guess that live counts when your system is doing updates in the background and downloading. I've damn sure not played my One much as the site is saying as I hardly play it.

I was thinking this could be part of it. I know we use it a lot, as it is our hub for everything - gaming, Netflix (we no longer have cable), movie rentals... I'm sure their number isn't too far off, but definitely a little.

That number is not time spent gaming, it's time spent on Xbox Live. I don't think that there is any way for them to differentiate between playing a game or using an app or whatever. I wouldn't be surprised if it included watching TV through the pass-through on Xbox One.
Mine is crazy, I do play a lot as I am home all day with just me and the dog, my DISH/tv is also through the Xbox and I watch a lot of Netflix and Hulu plus too but here it goes:
