Chapter 6! Am I the only one playing
Not even close. FF16 is way beyond this game.Seems so lol
Is it as good as FF16 so far?

Yes, all of that. FFXVI is like a hollywood blockbuster movie that is also deep. Grablue is more like Sesame Street, still in the 1980s.In terms of gameplay , story, production value ?

Hmmm.....not sure. Maybe a 7 right now. What's the rating at so far
Outside of leveling up my party members, unless I am missing something, I can't control them.I really liked the demo for Granblue and plan on getting it at some point. I put over 65hrs into FF16 and while its a really good game the demo for Granblue highlighted what it was missing.....depth.
FF16 has no RPG elements, there are no party members to manage unless you count Torgal to loyal Frost Wolf and even that's very limited. There is no skill tree, you get all the abilities as the story unfolds. There were no choices to be made. Also, while combat in FF16 is highly stylized and flashy there wasn't much to it and it was very easy to exploit the stagger mechanic to trivialize most boss fights. FF16 is more big budget action/adventure game than RPG. I had a lot of fun with it though.
I'm not sure if you have to complete the main story before you're able to take control of other party members. But in the demo there's a character select screen where you can take control over one of the other available characters, think there's 18 total characters in this game.Outside of leveling up my party members, unless I am missing something, I can't control them.
I didn't know there was 18! Wow. I think I have like 7 or 8 unlocked.I'm not sure if you have to complete the main story before you're able to take control of other party members. One of the video reviews I watched recommended getting through the main story first to get access to the real meat of questing with other party members either solo or in co-op. He said if you hold off on unlocking characters until you complete the main quest you're able to level up those characters faster because more of their skills are unlocked after the main quest is done requiring less grinding.
Game was good but not great. Solid controls and combat top the list. The story and characters are forgettable. The bosses are great especially the Shadow of Colossus style boss. Though some are in duplicate which was meh. Art style was good, performance was hit or miss for me with noticeable slowdown during intensive boss battles. Massive skill trees and inventory options. Save opportunities were plentiful.
7/10
I would play a part 2, but discounted post release.
The story ended up being 7 hours according to my PS App. But I didn't do side quests, and I am also not doing the endgame. I just got through the credits and called it a day. I don't have time to do more than that, otherwise I will never get to play different games. But the Chapter 0 and completing it will unlock the hardest difficulty is great for those like your brother that are into that stuff.I had a chance to see and play a bit on my brother's PC over the Lunar new year , seems like the story was just 10-12 hours but the endgame content will be supported as the months go by . He's already played 65+ hours.
You can basically choose and customize your character in endgame and play either solo or with friends in missions and boss fights it looks like.
He's a big fan of the Granblue IP as he plays the Versus Rising as well so he said this game probably appeals more to this audience but is still enjoyable for first timers to the franchise.
