Huge news for MS if marketed well. Access to all of these workouts without having to switch discs, being able to find workouts by voice, and being able to snap them while watching television.

This is a really smart play by Microsoft. I will certainly give this a try when it comes out. When Microsoft says they want a console for the whole family they seem to mean it.

Would be cool if this ended up being an app and not really a game so that a game could be played at the same time you were running Xbox One Fitness. You could be playing a game and your significant other/anyone else in the room could be doing a workout if you Snap it. Not sure how the audio situation would work, but still cool to think about.

Scams...thats what those programs are....Overratted HIIT training. (HIIT training isnt overrated, but those programs are)

I did P90X and lost almost 50lbs in 90 days. They are not scams they are very tough workouts and following the nutrition guide you will loose as long as you don't cheat.

I should point out that you could do all this without those programs but they help with pacing and keep you honest. Well worth it in my book.

I would love the ability to have the workout minimized and being able to watch a tv show at the same time! I think this sounds great, I like the idea of it looking like a live workout but with the tailored feedback that shows where you might need some work. I'm 49 years old, have some health issues and am stuck at home so this will be perfect for me.

Which you could have done yourself and saved the money. HIIT training is not new. Sprinters have been doing it forever. I swear by HIIT training. I went from 250lbs, to sitting pretty at 180lbs. You know where I got my workout and nutritional plan? The internets (bodybuilding.com exactly). Cost me nothing. And the "dont cheat" is BS too. If you cant "cheat" and still lose weight, then you are doing it wrong.

I own Insanity and P90X. Both work, but they aren't the answers for everyone. It worked for me. I think this is a great idea, if the Kinect is as good as they say. You'll have access free for a year to try it out. It can't hurt.

Hey I am not saying you can't do it the way you did it but for me P90X worked and focused my workouts and nutrition. At the end of the day that is all that matters and getting below 10% body fat would have been tough if I had to do all the research myself as I didn't really know what it meant to eat healthy and what a really tough workout was.

Just because you can do it on your own does not make these plans a scam. You're not just paying for the knowledge, you're paying for an alternative to the gym or an alternative to relying on people from sites like bodybuilding.com (which for the most part know nothing about real lifting). Gyms and relying on other guys can be intimidating to some. For those people it's worth the price to be able to get the same results but from the comfort of their own home.

Is not a scam..its people being sensitive. I routinely workout by myself but there is no lie i can push out 1 or 2 more reps when i have a workout partner (a lot of times its the insurance of incase you can't get the weight up they can bail you out).

My gf, who runs by herself and goes to the gym.....also did Insanity and yeah, that s*** looked like a bitch.

I use to belong to a gym but never was able to replicate the kind of workouts in P90X because of having to wait for equipment or floor space with said equipment. After doing P90 I have discovered that keeping my heart rate up even during resistance days is crucial to my overall fitness levels.

Paying for free information is a scam. Basic gyms are $10/month where I live. And I would hardly call pro athletes a bunch of know nothings. Their guides are nothing but pro-athlete authored. I understand people may need a partner. And if you are doing lifting, its automatic you need a partner. I hate working out without one during 5x5 season, it gets scary.

You know what my biggest thing getting over was? I was initially intimidated by the idea that people would stare at me during workouts. How f-ing conceited is that? The thought that a room full of people would snicker, or stare, when they are there for the exact same thing. Even the meatheads.

I now am in the mindset that I dont even need a gym, even paying for the gym is scam. I have bought exactly 2 pieces of equipment: weighted rope, and a weighted vest. There is no exercise i cant replicate that people believe they need a gym for.

I have been thinking about adding a weighted vests to my workouts, problem is I live in Ottawa Canada and no fitness suppliers here carry good ones and shipping one these things from the States is enormous.

good ones are expensive, but i will say the things work miracles. I know that one i linked to includes shipping in their pricing, dont know if Canada gets screwed on that.

We do I have looked into it at several locations on the web. I may wait until I take a trip to the states and pick one up then.

I am in no hurry though. tore my bicep tendon 2/3's way through and am waiting on the surgeons advice on what to do. I could use it for my plyo and leg workouts though.

Yes, pro bodybuilders who know nothing about what real lifting is and cannot relate to the average joe. I've used their guides before and that's more of a scam than insanity or p90x. You can make money back, but the time those guides take away from you, you will never get back.

With that said, I don't use insanity or p90x anyway. But I do believe they are good for what they are made for - losing weight. That's what the majority of people who use this on the Xbox One will be looking for, and if they follow it they will get results. Not a scam.

I can make my own video games. Is it a scam to buy them then?

None of that stuff (P90x) is a scam. Different methods appeal to different people depending on what they're looking for.

This fitness stuff could be a killer feature of Kinect if done right. For me personally, all I need is a timer, something that can keep score of different exercises accurately, and for the machine to save all my results.

You don't need someone yelling at you to perform. What I'd love to see is leader boards with different workouts. Would love to see some workouts include weights.

I crossfit 3 times a week (casually...not competitively) and the last time they had an open that allowed every person to participate and compare their scores to everyone else in the world, it was motivating (even though my scores were low comparatively). It's something to shoot for.

I'd say there's more to Hiit than just losing weight. It helps fitness, your heart health, increases testosterone, and depending on how you modify the workouts, can lead to muscle gain.

This could be great. Especially if top people on leader boards could share their videos to confirm the validity of their performances.

This is a good point. That would be really cool.

None of it is NEEDED. We don't need an Xbox One but we sure want one. Sure, I do think they are overpriced but if they get people active, it can be worth it. Not everyone has the motivation to decide to go to the gym on their own or they may be self conscious. No need to attempt to belittle people.

It's all calories in vs. calories out, the everyday decisions are the hard part.

The biggest secret in regards to getting fit is making it interesting. The biggest step for every single out of shape, unfit person is to....do something active consistently.

Over time you can modify your workouts to be more efficient and get better results... But if you've barely worked out before, initially you're going to get results because your body won't be used to whatever you're doing to it.

If any program gives a persons direction, instruction, and motivation...it's successful. If it works for a person, its worth whatever it costs. Your health is worth more than "stuff". What may seem like a gimmick or scam to someone else could be a life saver to someone else.

If Kinect 2 works, it could be a significant life changer to a bunch of people who can be reached of motivated to work out thru a videogame who haven't been working out previously.

This has the potential to be a real leg up for MS in the console war.

I was one that actually found Kinect to be awesome for getting into shape and went through Your Shape and EA Sports Active with great success. Lost weight and toned myself. It worked for me because I can't discipline to drive to a gym and morning workouts in front of a TV were perfect. Plus the tracking was a real motivator to keep me going.

Now you've got some of the top trainers on board, Kinect 2 with better tracking and heart monitoring. And the real game changer is THIS is the type of stuff that you'll see on the Today Show, Ellen, and elsewhere. None of those places are going to promo the newest FPS shooter but something like this will make the rounds. Parents see it as a win/win - kids asking for a console and this is something they can use to help justify the purchase as it shows it could be something to benefit them too. Not to mention all the TV stuff, fantasy football, simple voice commands for Netflix and you can start to see that if you can interest those pulling the purse strings then it could be something to tip the scales with all else being relatively equal. From a parent standpoint the tip of the scale for PS4 is price, but if they see the value of things like this then it may equal out. The other big factor will be how easy either is going to be able be found on shelves this holiday.
