That dude is a cautionary tale for not getting involved with the wrong chick lol.

Just be careful, he can be pretty sporadic and hard to predict.

Check out this friggin guy. What a pansy little tw@t. You can always tell the people who get Dark Souls from the ones that don't. Put this guy on alert for future references of stupidity. I would say it's just his opinion, but he's so flat out wrong about a lot of his gripes, and its pretty obvious he's just nitpicking things to be contrary.

What's funny is all the hardcore fans were once like him. Plunged in to a world of madness with no guide and no chance of a helping hand along the way. We battled to become hardcore Souls players. We learnt. We lossed. We raged. We eventually conquered.

He keeps talking of lore and not knowing the story but is only 20 hours in. What's even worse, is he branded it Mediocre and yet hasn't even come close to finishing the game.

"I tried burning human effigies at bonfires to restore my humanity and get my health back...."

LMAO

Beat the PC version, a couple bosses into NG+. Loving my lightning Santier's spear and Fire Bastard Sword so far. I have not used a shield with this character, has helped to keep me light. Staying around 40-50% encumbrance. Alternate between Faraam and Alva sets. Got invaded for the first time before the Dragon rider boss, was getting chased by the Old Knights at the time. I charged my invader and annihilated him before the knights descended upon me, killed them, drank my Sunny D, and entered the fog and took out the easiest boss in the game.

You score it ?/10

The Rotten can kiss my ass. Seriously. I know he shouldn't be to difficult given his slow attacks but I just can't seem to dodge them right.

More annoying than the Smelter Demon ? fookin hate this thing. I get him down to 3-4 hits of life and then it kills me, every time.

Haven't attempted the smelter demon yet. Heard he's balls hard. I really shouldn't be so stuck on fighting the rotten. He has slow attacks but the range is huge. I just cant get out of the way after I go in for a hit.

Similar issues I have right now with the Iron Keep end boss. He isn't hard, but his short range fills me with a sense of safety, and his lethargic moves seem to lure me into silly mistakes. Think I may leave Iron Keep and go to The Gutter. Until I collect these 3 old souls it would seem my word exploration has ceased.

You'll need at least an hour of torches built up for navigating the Gutter. The Old Knight Shield, at least I think thats the name, (85% poison reduction, 100% physical reduction), is a great help as well.

I even tried summoning a phantom fighting the Rotten, and all i had to do was run away (aggro'ed the boss and had the ring on to make him chase me), and I still couldn't keep out his way. He can f***ing suck it!... Grrr...

I should have enough Torch time. I have barely used it and have found many torches since the last use. I'll have a look for that shield. I think I have Pate's shield, and if memory serves that was pretty decent against poison...not sure on Melee attack defence though.

I still haven't summoned a phantom yet, not human or NPC...I'm so proud of myself :)

Its a tower shield anyway if I have gotten the name wrong. It's pretty vital, especially when you reach the Black Gulch.

Hats off to you, sir.

It says 85% poison reduction in the Auxilliary effects and reduction.

Guess I'm off to Harvest Valley :( then :)

You need one of those dark magic giants to smash a wall to get to it. I was actually playing with a phantom and the dude must have known about it cos he got the giant to break the wall for me. What a champ!

Ahhh...ok. I think I already have it then

Do I need to beat the Smelter Demon in order to get to Belfry Sol ?

Still playing through Demon's Souls right now(and Fallout 3 on the side).

I met the Flamelurker Demon last night. He is a tough one. I spend some time trying to read his tells or patterns so I can be ready next time. He might be my favorite boss design yet.

No. The Smelter Demon is apparently completely optional. If you beat him though then the Pursuer is supposed to spawn there after.

To get to Belfry sol you need a Pharros lockstone

I'll still take on the Smelter Demon, but the Purser can go f*** himself. That fight nearly broke me the first time.

How do you get there? I have plenty of lock stones.

Finally beat the last boss, there are some optional bosses left, think I will use a bit time there before I moving on to NG+.

He Apparently drops something worthwhile this time round. Might be worth the frustration.

Hmmm...Ok. Off the top of my head.

When you enter Iron keep, go across the bridge( 2 enemies), through the door (2 enemies) go up the stairs ( 3 enemies) and out the other door. In the middle you should see a big furnace you need to deactivate. Do this by turning the wheel on the door and then pulling the lever on the right( I did right.. left may work too). Go inside, up the ladder, kill the lightening sword guy, up the ladder. Kill those 2 turtle things on the bridge. At the end of the bridge ( watch the gap) through the door, there is a door on your left. That is where the lockstone is, hit the highlighted wall and go up the ladder....Welcome to Belfry Sol.
