I bet one is after that smelter demon thing ? I hate that thing, I have no fire resistance  am working on it though.

After Smelter is one, and another is before the area end boss. Most likely the best fire stuff you'll have at this point is Alonne armor from the Iron Keep guard drops, Flame ring, orange burr from the Roseabeth and maybe flash sweat from the Roseabeth. Its enough to get by him solo, but its one of the fights i have the most trouble with in the game if you are a melee build. If you have some sort of range magic (faith, magic) its easier. You could also throw non fire bombs at it- faith urns, magic urns, etc so you have a bit of range, if you are a non magic build.

Make sure to go back to where the Smelter Demon was after you beat him. The Pursuer spawns there and he'll drop Ring of Blades +1.

Finally beat those damn Gargoyles. Also went through Belfry Sol, but I expected more gargoyles or something.

The only "mod" I'm using at the moment is an ENB to make the game prettier.

I kinda want to wait a bit before using anything more involved that dropping files into the .exe folder until that mod software is out of alpha.

How did you beat them in the end? I still haven't attempted them yet. I have a few lock stones saved up so I might go down there over the weekend and give them a bash. I was thinking of running around with the dragon bow and not engaging them up close.

Just done what somebody else suggested and concentrated on one at a time( this is good cause they do not use fire till very low health). Once that one got low enough I used Pyro to finish it off from a distance. Once you take out 2 it becomes easier. Once you take down that third it becomes a cake-walk.

Yeah, that's the software I was talking about. While no one has had any serious issues I don't want to chance it just yet. I'd really hate to have something go terribly wrong and lose all my progress. The ENB I use ATM makes the game nice and pretty and by the time gedosato is more fleshed out (read: out of alpha/beta) there should be a host of texture/model and UI mods on the nexus.

Finally figured out that the Dull Ember in Iron Keep is easy to get. Took a while for me to realize it is a small jump away  Have to say though I am having big trouble with the Main boss here. Not because he is hard, but because he is slow and has limited range, I find myself making lots of mistakes and loosing my patience.

I also took that ember to the Blacksmith in Lost Bastille. So now I can buy Large Titanite shards.

Only use sweetfx configurator myself, no mods installed: (2nd screenshots with mimic hdr and bloom activated)

Finally beat the Gargoyles, the Heide Knight sword worked very good, have now infused it with lightning (lightning damage goes up, but base damage goes down a bit), have 41 in faith and planing to go for 50.

  1. I've found a new hated area. The room in Drangleic Castle with the stone guards and Sentinels. I cursed that room more than anywhere else. The sentinels aggro from so far away!

I found that place irritating, but it didn't really give me any big problems. You just have to be careful and work your way through without giving more than one sentinel a line-of-sight on you. You don't want to be fighting more than one of those dudes at a time. The pain is that you need to kill the statue enemies in front of the actual statues at the far end of the room to advance. It's a decent place to get some souls, though.

For those of you hating on the Stone Guardian/Ruin Sentinels room in Drangleic Castle, don't avoid the last door on the left side. If you go into it you'll fall down into a hole where the Faraam Armor set is (which is badass), not to mention there's a bonfire down there, and its one of the locations of Dark Diver Grandal, should you eventually want to do the covenants quest and fight the Dark Lurker.

Just in case no one knew.

I honestly had no reason to clear out those rooms but I finally did clear them out. Now I'm on my way through the rest of the castle.

I'm sure you guys have figured this out. But in the pools that destroy your equipment, best to just go in totally unequipped of everything.

I have a fog door even after clearing the room?

Should I keep the boss souls for later on, trade in or use them ? I have now Dragonrider Bow, Dragonrider twinblade, Pursuer Ultra Greatsword and Toxic Mist.
Not sure if there is more that is useful for me, have a strength of 40, faith that is 41 and dexterity 22

I'm actually finding the boss weapons to be pretty crap. I have yet to find one better than my Dragonslayer axe.

I think then I will use the souls to level up some more, yeah does not seem to be that many boss weapons that are worth it.

After a bit reading around, seems only thing worth for me is Butcher's Knife.

Okay shrine of Amana can kiss my black ass. The aggro distance of those mages is totally unfair.

Dragon Aerie and Dragon shrine sure is beautiful:

Not too many bosses left now.
