I don't like the idea of shuttering this thread. I like the idea of one main thread with a bunch of other more specific ones. It's also a good place for ongoing conversation.

If it's a burden, cut it loose. If it's not a big deal, I'd like to see it stay. Ultimately, do what you think is best Plainview. I generally read every page of this thread even though it may reduce the number of individual threads. Convenient to have a central location for news/general talk. My 2c.

No, all forums still stay the same. We're talking about the console specific thread, like this one. They're generally the ones with the most issues and are are rarely on topic and take too much effort to keep them on topic.

Well I guess it served its purpose, the new consoles have been out for over 6 months so perhaps there is no need of a dedicated Xbox One thread. I must say though this is where I head first, its like a one-stop-thread for all Xbox news. But converging Xbox and PS4 related threads into one forum may be asking for trouble.

So does that mean each console specific thread, not including the multiplat thread is going down?
Guys, this specific thread. The PlayStation discussion thread. These two specific threads and the Nintendo super thread. That's all. No merging of anything. Just these three general threads.

I just wanted to make sure the word poop is in this thread before she closes down.

I meant platform specific threads within the multiplat, not that you were shutting down the multiplat thread.

Killing this thread won't solve any issues. You'll just end up having a lot of other threads to guard and patrol from bs. Threads will get closed more often. News that get buried also resurfaces when it's relevant again. This is a great news and general X1 discussion thread.

I kinda like having a go to thread in case I don't have a lot of time to browse multiple threads. But it wont be the end of the world if it does go

It's seems as if it's split 50/50 based on feedback.

you could just update the thread name to "general discussion with occasional Xbox one stuff... "

;)

keep it plainview, just perm ban the usual trolls from this thread, also I think the forum has just enough active users to use the one thread for all the xbox news.

If you do decide to close It can you make the thread pages longer so I don't loose track of new threads going to page 2 really quick.

Xbox One outpacing the Xbox 360 by 76% in its first 6 months. Just proof that the X1 is going to be just fine, and that the implied doom and gloom is just hyperbolic fan boy nonsense.

Yeah it's just sad when i see people on forums saying ''the Xbox one is selling terribly''....when it's freaking outselling the 360 already. Is it selling less than the PS4? Clearly..but terrible? In no f***ing way is that terrible.

[Devil's Advocate]The main difference being that the 360 was supply constrained with failures all over the place. Not saying the numbers would be as good as the X1 if it didn't have those issues (76% higher is a huge number)....but I'm just saying it's not an apples to apples comparison[/Devil's Advocate]

I also agree that the X1 is selling just fine in the scheme of things. However, due to the competition and mindshare, the price drop/new sku was the right decision. I think the timing has as much to do with releasing across 42 new markets as anything. Just saying that a $399 (or lower in some markets?) X1 is an easier sell than a $499 X1. I also wonder if they'll have a permanent holiday bundle this year across both SKUs (like a Forza pack-in and maybe another game; Kinect sku could get KSR pack-in :))...ok, no more sku talk, I promise ;).

What do the failures have to do with anything. They are under warranty. Also how constrained was it. Unless we have an idea it doesn't matter at this point.

Also the point being made here is you can just see one number is bigger than the other and determine what is bad The Xbox 360 has sold almost 85 million units and sold at a slower pace than the Xb1.
