Nintendo announced new takes on 3DS hardware today.
Nintendo’s “New Nintendo 3DS” and “New Nintendo 3DS XL” were announced today.
The new takes on the handheld hardware will feature coloured face buttons and new ZR and LR buttons.
A new camera control nub is to be included above the face buttons, and the power button, card inserts and stylus will move to the bottom of the device.
The new models will be able to connect to Nintendo’s upcoming Amiibo figurines.
The hardware’s workings have been up-powered, apparently cutting down on loading times. 3D functionality has been reworked to reduce blur.
The New 3DS will cost for 16,000 yen (£93) and the New 3DS XL will sell for for 18,800 yen (£109). They’re out in Japan on October 11. There’s no western release date as yet, but Eurogamer’s reporting they won’t head to Europe until 2015.
