Insomniac made a mistake not going multiplat. Don't know if the franchise survives now which sucks as it was probably the most original game to come out this year. Also a little sad to see Alien Isolation no show. Doesn't bode well for games trying something different.

I'm sad that Sunset Overdrive didn't even chart. Poor Insomniac. No matter where they go people don't buy their games. Borderlands the Presequel charting is...slightly disappointing. Don't get me wrong, not hating but I'd rather see SSOD there than BL-PS. Xbox gamers don't like soccer.

Super f***ing Smash Bros (I don't even like the series) did around 485K this month, as it is now over 1.2 million between digital and physical in the US. o_o

No surprise Smash Bros. is awesome.

Sunset OD was only available for a few days in Oct., so maybe that's why it didn't rank in the top 10.

Yeah, but most games typically sell the lion share at launch. It will likely only drop off further for November.

No doubt, I'm just saying three or four days isn't a lot of time. Also, I don't believe bundles are counted, and iirc, there was a fairly popular Sunset OD bundle -- so it might've picked up a lot of sales that weren't counted in this NPD ranking.

Looks like October was another dominant month for the PS4. Just one of many more to come.

It sucks that Sunset Overdrive didn't do that well. Looks like the roles have reversed and Xbox gamers are the ones who don't buy their games this gen. Just saying.

I just realized Horizon 2 didn't chart either. I got to play a bit of that and very much liked it (more than another racer I won't mention by name because of how it would Drive this thread into yet another fight over which console Club is cooler).

I hope gamers realize that these companies aren't charities. Don't ask for new IPs and then not buy them when they come out, then turn around and complain when they stop making new IPs...and yes I know FH2 isn't a new IP.

Oh wow. The Forza franchise was a sales juggernaut for the 360. FH2 is awesome. I know the Xbox One has sold considerably less worldwide than the PS4 but why aren't Xbox gamers buying these games like they did last gen? Makes no sense.

Games doing not well means it will either not get a sequels, or the budget maybe be cut for sequels.

Racing games main market is Europe I think, which is a problem as X1 sales in Europe are lacking far behind.

Sad that good games did not made the charts. Being exclusive & a much lower install base maybe a factor. And probably people just like to stick to what they are familiar.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, main market for racing game is in Europe, a market that X1 is selling 1/3 or less than PS4. Still we expect it to sell decently enough in US.

Who says it isn't selling well? I bet it is selling well.

it was released on the 28th and a lot of sales were from bundles.

Bundles where the game was absolutely free, hard to call that a sale but I guess that discussion doesn't need to be started up again ;)

Unless it was a situation where the game wouldn't have been made without MS funding it there really was no reason for them to make the game exclusive. It doesn't appeal to me personally but I would think if you are a 3rd party and are introducing a new IP you want to put it out on as many platforms as you can.

Agree with ketto, gamers need to start putting their money where their mouth is. Otherwise we just get clones.

Regarding people not supporting new IP's you should only buy them if they appeal to you, just because it's new isn't enough of a reason to buy it.

Yet people buy the same crap IP's blindly year after year. I agree with you in principle, but it is sad.
