And maybe alot of little Johnnies out there will get a copy for Christmas.Yes. That's how sales go in this industry. They will only drop off from here especially with all the games releasing next week.

Yet people buy the same crap IP's blindly year after year. I agree with you in principle, but it is sad.

Ratings don't seem to matter anymore.Only if he has bad parents, it's rated M
I forgot about that filter.I play it around my 8 year old with the language filter on. It's really not that bad.
Poor Wii U. At this point there is nothing they can do to right that ship, regardless of how many good games come out for it.
It goes without saying but the Wii U needs more attention. I didn't get Bayonetta 2 yet because i have enough to play right now. I think that's the biggest problem for Nintendo. Between PS4/X1/PC, there's just more than enough gaming already. People buy the core Nintendo exclusives and forget about the rest. If Nintendo wants to change that, all they have to do is release a powerful console next time around with features on par with the competition.
They did that with the GC and ended up in 3rd place.

Maybe everyone is on their mobile games. I have been talking the train a lot lately while I am holiday now in Singapore, & just about everyone is on their phone, either facebooking, or playing some games. On the local papers, I read sales of consoles & games are down by significant number due to mobile games.Interesting that software sales were down almost a third from this same time last year. That's not good.
GAF is saying that Nintendo Wii U sales were about 68K. I don't know if that's up, down, or sideways.
Edit: Well, here you go (Nintendo PR): "Wii U continues to have a very strong year. Through the first 10 months of 2014, total sales of Wii U hardware and software have increased by 47 percent and 84 percent, respectively, over the same period in 2013."
Worst thing I've seen was a mom buying GTA 4 for her son who if I had to guess was ten years old. When it comes to violence that's mostly true, for some reason parents get more upset about something sexual than little johnny killing people.

GAF leakers seem to be MIA, so we may have to wait a while for PS4 and X1 numbers.

Those are the same types of parents that will later complain and say "well I didn't know, they shouldn't make this for kids" when they are informed at the counter that the game is rated M (at least at gamestop) and have the reasons for the M rating that are on the box pointed out to them.
Once again, the PlayStation 4 is the number one selling console in the US. NPD data for November 2014 arrived today, and Sony confirmed the position of its console via Twitter.
In a press release, the NPD Group's Liam Callahan writes that "Overall sales across hardware, new physical software, and accessories were essentially flat in October 2014 compared to October 2013." Continued strong performance on the console and accessory front offset the lower sales of software last month.
The Xbox One and PS4 have both been out for a year now, and the consoles are already performing better than the PS3 and Xbox 360 when compared to the same timeframe. "These consoles have had a great start," writes Callahan, "as cumulative sales are currently over 70 percent higher than the combined first year totals of Xbox 360 and PS3.”
Here are the top 10 games in physical hardware sales from the NPD:
Callahan also notes that Sunset Overdrive was number nine in the sales charts "when sorting on SKU rather than by title." Also, The Evil Within from horror director Shinji Mikami was "the highest-selling first month of sales for new IP in the Survival Horror genre."
- NBA 2K15 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)
- Super Smash Bros. (3DS)
- The Evil Within (PS4, XBO, PS3, 360, PC)
- Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (360, PS3, PC)
- Destiny (360, XBO, PS4, PS3)
- Skylanders Trap Team (360, Wii, NWU, PS3, XBO, PS4, 3DS, MOB)
- FIFA 15 (PS4, 360, PS3, XBO, Wii, PSV, 3DS)
- Madden NFL 15 (360, PS4, PS3, XBO)
- Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor (PS4, XBO, PC)
- Minecraft (360, PS3, PS4)
While there aren't many surprises from October, expect things in November to be a lot more competitive. Microsoft had a $50 price drop, and the company has already announced that, for the past two weeks, they've outsold the PS4 in the US.
Maybe we should get the lunatics working on taking the ak47s out of the kids hands in the Middle East 1st?Maybe they need a new explanation method. Perhaps they should pull out an M16, shove it in the parents face, rob them, and then say, "That is GTA mo-fooker."

Yes but it won't rid of of said lunatics like the kids with real guns will...Nah! The masses perception of gaming is far more important.
