Nope, show me where they said that today.

What Sony HAS said:

This branding will also be making the jump to PC, as Sony's senior vice president and head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment has said "any future games it releases on other platforms will also carry the branding."

“We must support the PlayStation platform — that is non-negotiable,” Layden said in an interview with Bloomberg. “That said, you will see in the future some titles coming out of my collection of studios which may need to lean into a wider installed base.”

Show us where they said it was old games. Thanks!

LOL!!! PlayStation Studios is for ALL future games that are First Party, and on multiple platforms including PS4. Not just PS4.

Yes, he's saying this because people rag on the Xbox for having most of their games release on the PC. So he's hoping that Sony will do the same. Sony has no reason to release exclusive games on the PC day one. They've probably realized that they can cobble together teams to port old PS4 games to the PC and PC gamers will eat it up. Plus, it will function as advertising for the PS5. They hook you with the older game and the new one is already available on the PS5.

Everything points to older PS4 "game collections"(as they worded it) coming to PC.

But why would you lie? I hope BOTH companies do it. I prefer consumer friendly, more games for gamers and more choice. It's pretty sad that people like you are more focused on plastic worship wars instead of us, the consumers. PS and Xbox having their games on PC is a win for the consumer, the gamers.

Lol, that's quite a provocative statement.

I'm talking about DEE. I'm subscribed to him and a few others on Team Dealer. They are biased.

Unlike Microsoft Sony isn't selling operating systems, they also aren't an endless money pit either. They need the Playstation to be profitable, that means creating exclusives to drive console sales.

And we don't even know what a third party PlayStation would ultimately become. Could very well end up like EA, Ubisoft, Take Two, and WB games with games built around micro-transactions until enough gamers cry foul and they fix it 6 months later.

Nothing emotional about what I said. This is just clear reasoning.

Not quite; they need to create exclusives to move consoles so they can capture their cut of multiplatform game sales. Hardware isn't where the money is at, but getting that ten bucks for EA games sold in your platform will add up.

Ah ok I assumed you were talking about me because Vals reply was to me.
I agree, I can see how some people would react that way.

Is it, though? Since MS went full on with this the quality of their games has dropped. Maybe just coincidental, but food for thought.

This is wrong and Why PS5 will actually have exclusives unlike XSX.
PS exclusives are why they dominate.

I think the people who dismiss the PS5's SSD speed as just meaning shorter load times are really underselling what Sony has done, they wouldn't have spent the time and money to do this just to shave a few more seconds off of loading than MS does.

I couldn't get any exact specifications from Epic, but on a conference call earlier this week I asked how an RTX 2070 Super would handle the demo, and Epic Games chief technical officer Kim Libreri said that it should be able to get "pretty good" performance. But aside from a fancy GPU, you'll need some fast storage if you want to see the level of detail shown in the demo video.

Sony was heckled a bit for its focus on the PlayStation 5's storage speed, and if all you're imagining is loading screens disappearing more quickly, it does seem like an odd focus. But it's about moving beyond loading screens entirely, to the point where "you can bring in [the demo's] geometry and display it despite it not all fitting in memory," says Epic CEO Tim Sweeney.

In other words, the storage needs to be fast enough to keep up with the player, allowing the game to seamlessly increase the complexity of distant objects as they get closer without 'popping in' more detailed models—something we've gotten used to seeing.

To that end, Unreal Engine 5 is being "optimized for next-generation storage." The PlayStation 5 storage tech is "god-tier," says Sweeney, while PCs have some catching up to do. That said, "on a high-end PC with an SSD," and especially with an NVMe SSD, we should get "awesome performance" from Unreal Engine 5 games. (With a good GPU and CPU too, of course.)

Nobody knows about the load times of the XSX yet with their custom NVME and Velocity.
