This is from 2018 but still applies today, make sure the set you buy is a true 120hz tv and not something that says effective 120hz.

I loved that game but I don't think I'd play through it again for 120hz, I mean it's worth playing through a second time even at 60fps because it's just a great game.

BTW Between what MS and Sony showed I don't want to see anyone else complaining that there aren't enough female lead characters in games anymore, it seems like over half of the new games announced so far on PS5 have female lead characters and you have this game for xbox and others I'm sure that will as well.
 
I watched the entire conference again today. This time in 4K/60 on my Oled. My opinion is slightly changed but not a ton. I'm still more excited than I've been about the Xbox ecosystem since 2006/2007. What they showed for their road map was incredible value, Game Pass taking a major step up, commitment to variety, big games, and I plan to play almost everything shown thanks to Game Pass.

What I didn't get was a wow factor in terms of demonstrations of next gen tech outside of the Medium. I give the show a very high score on paper for the content. Very low score for demonstrating the technical capabilities. It's a solid 7.

I am looking forward to seeing that same lineup of games once they can start adding ray tracing and leveraging UE5.

I said it's worth playing again because it's a good game, I don't think 120fps is going to make a big difference over 60fps for most people, they had to put it in slow mo to show the difference.
 
Sounds like Halo Infinite may be variable resolution after all, the studio head said "up to 4K" which is totally fine with me, I think the 4K stuff should be put to bed and we probably all agree that if a dev needs to sacrifice in any area to make game look better or run smoother resolution should be the first thing on the chopping block.

I'm guessing it's the leadership of the studio, they've had a few important people leave the in the last year or two which is kind of strange when the game was still heavy into production. I know the head narrative guy left but I say good riddance to him if he was the one in charge of the story modes for the last two games.
 
I blame Bonnie Ross and them as a whole haven't done s*** since joining together.

MS needs to scrap this team,have Coalition do more and pay em more.

That is why the show was such a disappointment for me. This show should have been about showing the technical abilities of the XSX HW and Halo needs to be at the very Top of the technical chain. I still can't get over how outdated those Halo Infinite textures looked.
Wasn't the July show case supposed to be the coming out party for the XSX HW?
I guess I was expecting Xbox (now in its 4th console gen) to really bring the heat :-/

It is the same with Star Wars, everyone will line up to watch every movie 3 times over, but tell you how they hated every minute of it.

Seriously, it isn't healthy. This isn't politics or sports, it is video games. This is supposed to be the fun part of our lives. I can't wait to get both consoles, there's nothing more fun than new console releases.

Being disappointed doesn't mean no fun can be had. I know you and the other Xbox apologists like to settle for mediocrity, but some of us want Xbox to be great again.

Yeah but I wouldn't really classify it as anger. Someone who says "I wish Microsoft would do this or that" isn't anything for anyone to get worked up over and I don't see why it would be viewed as trolling either.

You think Phil Spencer gets daily reports on our threads? You're just bickering.

I'll let you in on a little secret - MS doesn't give a damn what I think. Neither does anyone here really... except you.
 
I feel so weird because its obvious that 343 delivered something, so far, that has missed the mark for the majority. But at the same time, I personally love the direction they're going.

Halo 4 and 5 felt like they tried to change with the times by combining Halo with COD. And visually, it felt too much like Metroid Prime. Which I love too, but its not Halo.

Its open world so they are still chasing the trends but hopefully it works out better

Well that's going a bit too far imo, it looks to me like an X1X game running at 60fps based on the footage I've seen, It's obviously bigger in scale than any Halo 343 has made before but they also made Halo 4 and 5 take place in smaller areas than the games Bungie made.

I do like the mindset that they are trying to get back to the original game and the graphic style here clearly gives that impression which is a plus, now they need to prove they can tell a decent story.
