Controls suck. I like how they let you skip all the dumb f*ck cutscenes. I have no idea what's going on, just the way I like it.

I skipped all of them after creating another character. I didn't like my character's appearance. I wasted my time going through the prologue again, only to find out that Rift Town there's an option to change your character's appearance.

This demo does have a lot of cutscenes. I imagine the full version is going to be cutscene galore.

Downloaded the steam demo. People Can Fly know how to make satisfying gun combat with a twist. Enjoying the open world approach too. Love that the game lets you do side quests and what not. Story started out meh, but once you're in the thick of it, I do like the mad max meets gears of war with just a sprinkling of Phantom Dust. RIP Mr. Chang, I wanted the good stuff. Enjoying the demo so much I might treat myself to this game. Not sure. Haven't touched the MP yet.

It's so bland. It's just not fun. I'd only recommend if it's on Game Pass or under a $1

Which it could be by June.

Downloading for XBox to see if it's any good.

I’ll be pre ordering this. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s like Destiny and The Division had a love child together and made Gears of War a godparent.

the action is intense and the combat is absolutely brutally violent. The enemy AI is excellent. The cover system is good, the health regen system is another great gameplay mechanic.

yep. I’m loving this.

The videos remind me of Destiny. Just not sure if that's a good thing or not (I fell off Destiny 2 real fast). I love Division.

I'll still try it out.

I wasn't able to check it out because Live was down most of last night for me. But I watched a long video playthrough this morning the game still looks like fun to me. There was one thing I said to myself, the environments and overall presentation shows the difference between AA & AAA titles. Destiny & Division have stellar graphics with detailed environments and Outriders not so much. I'll check it out for myself later today.

I fall inbetween the 2 opinions above. It isn't terrible but isn't amazing either.

Game is ok I guess. Combat is like Gears of War, but with super human abilities. Playing on PC on Epic graphics settings. Most of the time it runs around 100 fps. Never goes below 60 fps. Graphics aren't great, but not bad. Character creation is pretty basic. Pick a face, hair style, hair color, facial hair etc. Very little options and the characters don't look as good as they do in game.

Looks interesting.....is it worth downloading?

Tried it. Not for me. Something about it just isn't clicking.

....okay then. Sounds like a hard pass.

Its okay. Not something I would pay full retail price for if the demo is anything to go by. Play the demo by all means. You're either going to love it or be ambivalent about it. Note, I played on PC and the demo required you to make a Square Enix account to play it.

I'm guessing they're going to have extra content laid out for the next year or 2, right? Just seems to be the same type game that I fell off. Think I might not even try the demo for that simple fact.

I've always felt Destiny needed to be a more living environment with content happening around you and all you got was story quests to trigger and go to.

Division was more of what I wanted. But doesn't look like that.

It's not a bad game. Download the demo. The prologue starts out slow, so be patient. If you like Gears of War's cover system and combat, you'll probably like the demo. That being said, I didnt have much fun at first, but it's kind of growing on me.

I am playing Solo mode at this time. I haven't tried coop yet, so I can't comment on that.

Oh and PC features like DLSS isn't in the demo. Those features are going to he in the full version. New geforce drivers are also out, so update them.

Odd. I didn't have to sign up for an SE account to play it. I only got a message asking to sign up to receive some cosmetic stuff to use in the demo.

The demo is DX11 by default. For Steam users add: -force -dx12 in the launch options to force DX12. It fixes the performance issues that under-utilized the CPU and GPU in Rift Town. One of the developers said DX12 is a work in progress and will be the default in the full version.

Started it back up today. I’m having fun. The abilities seem cool. Gunplay and combat seems satisfying so far.

The true test of a game like this is its loot and gameplay loop which we can’t really test out in the demo. Obviously if the gunplay and abilities and classes suck then none of that will matter but so far I think they actually succeed there.

the graphics are good. Not super good but functionally good. The game play though it’s miles better than destiny or division.

absolutely worth a download. It’s a long time since a dev company has given this kind of transparency by releasing a fully functioning demo.
Personally I think it’s a great game. Gears of war meets Division, meets Destiny.

Glad you are enjoying, as am I. Do think the true value of the game won’t be known until we start modding gear and using the skill trees in the full release, but just reading about that stuff shows there is going to be a huge array of options to toy with.

Seems promising. Really think I may end up buying

I've maxed out all four classes now and I'm very impressed with the preciseness of the balancing that has gone into each one. They have very different playstyles but you could probably summarize it into two tank classes, Pryromancer (keeps healing as long as enemies keep burning making him very hard to kill), Devastator (gets rock armour and can reflect bullets back to take out multiple enemies in one go) and two Support classes, Technomancer (drops rocket turrets, sentry turrents and also gets plague rounds which i think is the strongest attack in the game so far) and the Trickster (hit and run teleporting assassin that can slow time and give one hit kill melee strikes).

In terms of abilities the Trickster is without a doubt the star of the show in the demo. The teleport attack and time freeze bubble look amazing and are so unbelievably fun to use but all the classes really shine, especially if you mix them up in combo. Have the Trickster time freeze a bunch of enemies and then have the Pyromancer set them on fire and basically the Pyromancer becomes indestructible for about 10 seconds for example. So much fun is to be had.

Definitely a day 1 for me just on the sheer entertainment value alone.

Both look pretty similar to me, better lighting on PS5 and better shadows on SeriesX supposedly, except once again for the little frame drops that seem to plague the Xbox.

Game is really fun I'm liking it, great gunplay, interesting story and setting.

Finished the demo last night. The boss fights are quite fun, and once you get used to the kill 4 heals system, the game opens up. It's got good gun feel imo and that's what is really selling me so far.

Ok this game is actually pretty cool I had a lot of fun with the demo, I played as the trickster and found the power combos quite satisfying to use, as well as guns and gear that can add to your powers.

Found matchmaking a little long to find a game, I don't care what mission I do I just wanted to level up the world tier but it seems you have to be on the same mission as others?

Might play through with another class to test out other powers, still got a lot of time before release and it only takes a couple hours of gameplay to finish the first act.

I can definitely see myself getting it around release time, but I can also see it dropping in price soon as well.

I love the tricksters time bubble and seeing all the bullets get stopped in it then just blowing everyone up, it's quite gory, cutscenes have some weird issues but nothing too bad.
